2008 Mazda 5 Aux Jack Replacement Part #

:
2008 Mazda 5 ES (GT)/ Stormy Blue/ Automatic
Hi!
My aux jack input just stopped working today. I tried different aux cables to no avail. I read that this jacks are prone to failure.
Does anybody knows the OEM replacement part number???
I also noticed that the 2015 5 has a aux/usb input jack. Can I retrofit it to my '08 model?

you'd have to look up the replacement part number. I'm betting the aux/USB will physically fit but the USB will not work. The old units do not have firmware for USB playback. It also does not supply power though you could fanangle/wire it to supply power independent of the unit.

I’ve not heard of the Aux port failing. It is a very simple connection. Hopefully you get it working and it’s about time for a Bluetooth dongle to stop that constant pluging in/out!

Just an example out of many options. This does work great and cheap.

Thanks! The dongle is coming, it's precisely the one you mentioned but first I have to get the aux jack working or replaced. I'll keep looking for the parts number.

Hi guys!
I think I finally got the Aux Jack parts number thanks to Tasca online.
They just sent me this msg:
According to your vin number, the correct part number you need is part# C291-66-DFX-02.
If anyone can confirm this I'd be very grateful since I don't want to order the wrong part.

Nice find. That looks about right. And it looks to be supplied by Sanyo -bottom of the barrel supplier. Knowing this I could not, in good conscious, spend the listed price for it unless you absolutely must have oem look. If you can do some basic wiring, you can easily slice in a replacement 3.5MM aux input port and hid it somewhere else, esp since you are adding Bluetooth anyway.

I"ll have to pay since I want to keep the stock look. Couldn't find the part on Ebay or Amazon and no Mazda parts online store would send with free shipping to Puerto Rico so I"ll try to get it locally.

If your stock stereo is set up to connect an aux jack like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/ (commissions earned), you can feed the connection to the glove box. This is what I got when I hooked up my KINIVO Bluetooth car kit. I was able to run the wires behind the dash for a nice clean set up. I'm not a fan of dangling wires. Also if you're looking to connect anything via aux jack, I would recommend getting a ground loop noise isolator; https://www.amazon.com/dp/ (commissions earned). It will eliminate annoying static noises.
