BMW has released official images of the 2007 Mini Cooper (Mk II). As previously reported, the car will be offered in Mini Cooper (120 hp) and Cooper S (175 hp) guise. Both cars are powered by a 1.6 liter four-cylinder engine. The Mini Cooper reaches its peak 120 horsepower output at 6,000 rpm and peak torque of 118 lb-ft at 4,250 rpm. It features Valvetronic technology for an added edge over the previous model. The turbocharged Cooper S makes 175 hp at 5,500 rpm, and peak torque of 177 lb-ft comes at just 1,600 rpm. While the 2.76-inch-longer exterior is mostly evolutionary, BMW describes the new interior as "revolutionary." For increased safety, curtain airbags now protect all passengers. More details are expected soon"

Cute car. Decent pep! A little on the pricey side but I would not hate owning one. British Racing Green with Union Jack on the roof!

I have yet to drive one of these and I'm dying to do so. Parked next to a S model the other day with my Ms6. talk about size difference :)

the stereo is gonna be a b**** to replace, and im not sure about the looks yet, need to see it in person. but if its anything like the Mk 1, itll be insanely fun to drive

I don't think many Mini people modify their stereo anyway. I agree though, it's fully integrated with the car. The CD slot looks like a mouth.

totally new DOHC aluminum engines; why stick with supercharging when a turbo is more efficient? the SC does add a bit of unique character to the present MCS (and certainly a lot of current MCS owners will hold onto them b/c of it), but the turbo engine will probably be a big step up.

i've heard that the standard suspension is going to be a little softer than current, but the Sport suspension will be a little harder than the current Sport. also, weight loss FTW!
