2007 Mazda5
(usa) First of all, this is all USDM info. "GT" refers to the all new trim with leather and HID's.
(canada) Canadians can still pull details of the pricing trend for their own loonies and toonies ;)

Kelley Blue Book has published 2007 Mazda5 pricing... including for the GT trim. Good news, it's not very different, if at all. There's a wierd thing with the features though. For 2006, it did note the $200 charge for Whitewater Pearl but not pricing for SIRIUS radio. For 2007 it did NOT list any charge for Whitewater Pearl, but now it does list SIRIUS radio. For comparison's sake, I'll leave SIRIUS Radio and Whitewater Pearl out of the equation. Here's what pricing is for my configuration.

2006 Mazda5 Touring
5MT
DVD Entertainment
$20,710

2007 Mazda5 Touring
5MT
DVD Entertainment
$20,910

SO, in the end, it went up $200, not bad. However, if you DO add the Whitewater Pearl charge to the 2006, that brings the 2006 to the EXACT same amount of $20,910 anyways. So one could say they just jump the price up for every model and deleted the extra charge for Whitewater Pearl? OR, perhaps more likely, KBB.com neglected to include the extra Whitewater Pearl charge in their calculation for 2007, prices jumped $200 accross the board and there'll still be an extra Whitewater Pearl charge for me anyways (even though KBB didn't show that.)

BOTTOM LINE: Prices are pretty damn close to 2006, so no sticker shock :)

PS - What you all probably want to know, GT pricing. 2007 Mazda5 GT pricing starts at $21,860. BAD NEWS possibly about the GT trim... according to KBB.com it will only be available in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION!** Also, they only have Whitewater Pearl, True Silver, Galaxy Gray, and Brilliant Black listed for colors. Sorry folks! (I'm glad I ordered a Touring now!)

All prices are MSRP with Destination included.

**DISCLAIMER: KBB.com is know to occasionally goof up with their info. Unfortunately I doubt it in this situation as they consider the selection of a transmission as a 'Trim' choice, not an 'Option' choice... but just stay tuned until MazdaUSA releases more info or just call your dealer I guess.

I dunno... I admit that I'll be surprised if that's actually the case, and it's a big mistake on Mazda's end if it is. Maybe Mazda feels it's more 'luxury' to have an automatic?! All I can say is I just with Mazda would update their own websites already (ughdance)

Yeeeeah, manual transmission rules! RIght now the only thing I really miss is the ipod interfacing option. Any details on this in the 2007 borchures/websites?

Well our colors for GT is the same as the US if you want to get the leather option. I looked at the dealer's 2007 specs and the leather option only allows the same 5 or 6 colors. However, our GT can also come with the standard cloth seats in which case all the colors are available. My speculation is that only certain colors look good with the espresso leather which is why they limited it. I've actually ordered my 07 in Galaxy Grey and leather in GT spec so I'm really curious to see some pics. My best guess is that it looks similar to the Miata with Galaxy Grey and brown leather, though I think that leather color is lighter than the expresso color in the 5.

While I haven't gotten any hints of it from my dealer or MazdaUSA, I have heard on the news that GM, Ford, and Mazda will all add this option for all models in 2007. So it looks promising, stay tuned...

Vancouver_M5, I agree. I was thinking this myself, there's only certain colors that blend with expresso brown. Just so happens that the colors KBB.com has listed (White, Silver, Gray, Black) are all neutral, which'd make sense with that theory.

Well, looks like I'll have my 2007 Mazda5 long before it's ever published on MazdaUSA.com. Here's an email I just got back from Mazda...

"Hello Joel,

I have spoken to my Website Design contact and was advised that the
2007 MAZDA5 information is scheduled to be uploaded to the website at

Update. Edmunds.com just released their 2007 Mazda5 pricing. Looks like the same deal for the Mazda5 GT (USDM). Automatic Transmission only. They also confirmed only Whitewater Pearl, True Silver, Galaxy Gray, and Brilliant Black.

That's two sources with identical info now...

Has Mazda said how many Mazda5s they will make for the 07 model year?

I think there were something like 15,000 to 17,000 06 Mazda5s, just wondering if they are greatly increasing production for the US market or keeping it the same.

I'm sure they'll probably increase the numbers for this year. The 06MY in the United States was more of a "what the hell, lets dabble in the USDM with the Premacy and see what happens". They called it a 5, threw it on dealer lots and even with minimal advertising it became a hit. Now that they see the 5 works in our SUV crazed market, they'll undoubtedly ship more over. Just my two pennies.
