A Suzuki? They are related! I think it looks like a Alfa Romeo.

That's actually the car I was thinking of, just couldn't pull it out of my head. Used Suzuki as a substitue lol. Yeah, you hit it right on with Alfa. But then, I don't like the styling of the new Alfa's, lol.

isn't the new(ish) lead designer for subaru someone who designed at alfa romeo? i could have sworn i read an article stating that as the reason for the romeo-inspired front and tails.

suzuki man........ouch!

i said that on another thread where someone posted pics.....was the first thing that came to my mind when i saw it!

TOKYO Subaru has raised the curtain on its freshened Impreza and its hot WRX STi version while secret, behind-the-scenes work moves forward on the third-generation small car coming in 2007.

Unveiled Thursday in Tokyo and headed for the U.S. this fall, the revised Impreza is the second Subaru after the B9 Tribeca crossover to wear the new corporate face. It features a big central grille with "wings" on either side, denoting the aircraft ancestry of Fuji Heavy Industries, Subaru's parent company. New bumpers add nearly 2 inches to the hottest Impreza the iconic, super-fast WRX STi.

Engines carry over with the same horsepower, but torque increases. New is the Driver Control Center Differential for the Impreza's full-time all-wheel drive, for cornering and stability. The STi gets competition-inspired aerodynamic tweaks to help on the track and rally stage.

Meantime, Subaru's plans for the third-generation Impreza are closely guarded. The Tokyo grapevine talks of two new bodies: a four-door sedan and a three-or five-door hatch (mainly for Europe). Word is the next Impreza's engine will go front midship and the car will get wider tracks, a longer wheelbase and a raised-suspension Outback version. Engines carry over, with the STi boosting horsepower to 310 or 320.

Saab, which sells a version of the Impreza as its 9-2X, is seeking significant albeit costly differentiation on the next-generation 9-2X.

What this means to you: The freshened Subaru Impreza promises to be one of the hottest cult cars out of Japan this year.

pretty sure that's the ugliest subaru i've seen in a long time. the front end is just nasty, and the wheels on the wrx are boring and fugly.

definitely a downgrade.

i like it. i think its ok with the narrower lights. if they changed the grill it would look hot. im sure thats why everyone thinks it ugly. the whole car grew on me so im ok with it.
