That seems awful low cosidering the rated power...Even after drivetrain loss...It seems really really low?(boom07)

I don't think it's that far off with drivetrain losses, especially considering it's a new motor and dyno's are pretty inconsistent. It sure feels like 170hp driving it. Of course more hp is always welcome, but it's plenty quick in stock form.

That seems perfectly reasonable for a car with LESS THAN 30 MILES ON IT!!!!!! Once he finishes break-in, he should take it back and try again...

I'm just saying that mazda engineers are known to over rate the hp rating on their cars. Mazda has been questioned about this in the past and they have said that they use a formula to estimate the hp output. But they still make a well balanced car.

Given a ~20% drivetrain loss, that's kind of what I was expecting. I'd be happy with one. Though, who knows what is actually lost between the crankshaft and rear wheels (and how heavy are the wheels?).

The car has only a 22 pound increase due trying to allow more comfort, useage, power, and capability.

Wheelbase is now 2.6 inches.

Quarter-mile the 06 ran 15.3 seconds at 89.4.
