The fleet thread made me curious. So here's the '06 sales numbers for Japan, Europe, and the North America.

Japan - 26,883
EU - 45,244
NA - 26,454 (USA - 17,801)

Total Japanese production for 2006 was 120,811 units.

The US number is alot higher than I thought it would be. They must all be on the coasts, here in the Midwest we still have people asking us what kind of car it is, where it comes from, and still looking amazed when they see six people get out of it .

We are. Consider that we have one tenth the population of the US, and still bought one third of the models sold in North America. (lol2)
