2003.5 new colors? How long is the wait.

I am going to be buying an MSP the only question left for me now if if I should wait for a Silver or Yellow rather then an Orange Msp. I know there isnt much difference at al between the 2003 and the 2003.5 Msp besides the color. I guess my question is if anyone knows when they are due at dealerships? I would rather have Yellow then orange but if it comes down to being a 2 month wait thing ill get orange. I know they say "early april" but is that really true? Im new to the car buying scene alltogether so I dont know if thats what they say then they really mean early april and will have the 2003.5 then. Thanks!

it's going to be more then 2 months in Canada. You guys in the states might have much better luck. April is only a month away, and that is "supposed" to be the release date.

Now, is anyone near a port, or area where they store these cars? Can you drive by and see if they are even started on these cars yet? We used to get updates weekly, it's been really quiet Since Jan. We don't know if even the orange ones are done yet.

btw: Welcome aboard ! Since your new, you may not know about the Silver, and Blue ones coming out as well. take a search around here...

Keep in mind, some of us are STILL waiting for the 2003 Orange speeds and this is March. The release date for them was like Oct 2002.

Yep, I'm one of them. It's quite frustrating actually, I can't imagine how people feel that have the car on order so long (I've only been waiting since December).
I might be driven into the arms of the '04 WRX.

Hey Grimace! :)

Hey Grimace! Seems like I haven't seen you post in a while. I didn't know you're still waiting for you car. Then again I dind't even know you had put a deposit down on one in December either. :) What color are you waiting for?

I'm still on the fence about which car I'm gonna get (Spec-V or MSP). Luckily I don't have to decide until June. Now since they've announced that they're gonna increase production #s and offer blue and silver as well I think I'll be forced into chosing one or the other (Spec-V or MSP) and not having the MSP be eliminated by not being able to get one. :)

Both of the two Mazda dealers here in Grand Rapids, MI have two Black Mica and One Orange each. I think my color preference now would be (1) Black Mica (2) Blue (3) Orange (4) Titanium (5) Silver (6) Yellow.

Actually I'm kinda hoping that they'll still have a Black Mica or Orange one left here in GR in June when I'm ready to put down a deposit because I like the 2003 style car better I think. But a Blue 2003.5 is still kinda tempting.

Then again I still might end up with a Spec-V. Anyways, sorry for the rambling post, just wanted to say wassup Grimmace! :)

Grimace dont feel bad I have been waiting since oct or nov, its been so damn long I do not even remember

oh well its just helping me save up more for the down payment ;)

it will come eventually  I guess

Ok guys, I'll hang in there...for now. It is just discouranging not being able to be told anything whatsoever about when to expect the car. I need to sell my current car before I pick up the MSP, since I only have 1 parking spot, but I can't exactly do that until I know when my car is coming... :frustrated:
I know it's limited edition and everything, but come on! Talk about getting jerked around! Its almost the 2nd quater of 2003! What the hell is taking so long?
I can't and won't wait much longer. I'm not thrilled about the whole clunk issue, the reports of the dead spot, and the fact that the damn thing has been sitting rotting in a lot for months and months. I know a definate date for when the 04 Subie is coming out, and I can pick up a Spec V tomorrow if I wanted. Neither one of those cars clunk. :p
Ok, I'm done ranting.
You are a stronger man than I tekkie. (Which dealership are you dealing with?)
And wassup to you too AltimaSE!

I am dealing with Ontario Mazda in Mississauga, they are horrible in my opinion, they dont know $hit about when the car is coming. I wish the hell I could afford a WRX because I would be driving it already.

I can swing a WRX, and wasn't really interested in them until I sat in one at the autoshow.
The revised seats for the 04 model year are some of the best seats I have ever sat in. Talk about lateral support! I'm just not crazy about the fact that when you adjust the seat the way I like it, there isn't much room in the rear behind me (and I'm barely 6' tall). Also, I'd need to buy a short-shift kit, stiffer bushings, better tires, and upgrade the stereo - things the MSP has as stock.

not to mention that the back of the 2004 wrx is ugly. The fixed the front....at least somewhat....and teh back is still ugly, and in that car, that's the only part other people are going to see :)
