2003.5 color question

are they adding the titanium and yellow to the mix or replacing the orange and black. I was looking at a picture from the press kit from naias for mazda and the picture of the MSP was an orange with the 2003.5 style thats why i ask.

This is the first I've heard of a 2003.5 in spicy orange. I thought the yellow and titanium would replace the orange and black. I think that's what most others think as well.

Post the pic if you can.

show us this picture. I've never heard of this before.

scan it if you can, and post it. Or send it to me and I'll post it.

Yes, definately post that pic. We are all under the impression that titanium and yellow 2003.5's with the new body kit will replace orange and black 2003's with the MP3 body kit.

News to me too?!

I was at the NAIAS the Saturday that it opened to the public and the only MSP I saw there was a 2003.5 with the dark grey paint.

Almost made me sick when I came back after lunch to look at it and someone had ripped off the spoiler?! Ripped the bolts right through the trunk lid.

Anyhow... I did briefly talk with one of the reps at the show, but I can't remember if he said the yellow and dark grey were replacing the black and orange or not, but I have always been under the impression that since the yellow and grey are 2003.5 models they would be out half way through the model year and by that time the quantity of black and orange would be sold. Although I'm hoping they'll still be a black one left at my dealer for me. :)

I was at the NAIAS and there was no Orange speed there. There was only a 2003.5 Titanium less a Kenwood receiver... Mazda reps were really surprised the stereo got ripped off.. WTF.

I can't believe that people would have the nerve to rip off the rear spoiler and the stereo.
At least the stereo you could sneak out under your coat, but the spoiler? How the heck would you sneak that thing out?

I Know!

My friend and I thought the same thing so it gave us an excuse to go up and talk to one of the mazda girls by the car. :) When I asked her she said that it happened when there were probably a hundred people standing around and they just weren't paying attention. I asked how they could conseal a whole spoiler and she didn't really give me an answer.

I actually posted about this happening right after I got back from the show and someone else on here said that the spoiler actually flew off when someone opened the trunk, but I find that hard to believe espieces since the Mazda people there said it was stolen.

I wasn't aware that the stereo also got stolen, but it could have happened after I left or later in the week. I guess there some idiots out there who actually have the balls to try and pull of stuff like that... ah well. :|

sorry if some ppl got confused but this pic is not of a car AT the naias show it is from the press kit cdrom as far as i know.

That's pretty cool. First time I've seen it. I wonder what this means? Will they make some 2003.5s in spicy orange? Or is this a 2004? (Yes, I know the Mazda 3 should be replacing the Protege in 2004.)

If I can't score an orange one in time then I will probably wait for the yellow one! I prefer the yellow. Does anybody know if it is going to be the typical yellow or will it have something special added to it like the black and orange curently have?

Bad yellow picture

It's probably just my computer, but that pic sort of looks like a bad picture of the yellow car. I'm not doubting that Mazda might continue the black and orange, but that car doesn't exactly look like a spicy orange MSP to me.

Thanks Protege5Kid for posting the pic of the titanium MSP at the NAIAS without the spoiler. My friend and I were going to try and track the guy down that stole it so we could get some free MSP gear from the rep... but no luck. :)

It appears to be a photo of a monitor displaying the pic from the CD, so the color could certainly be off. I'm expecting one of these CDs in the next few days so I'll let you know then.

yea anyone that has the actual cd let us know what info and pics r on it and clear up the color of that pic if its yellow then we will finally have a pic of yellow so its a win win situation :)

hey altima...im the one that told you that the spoiler had fallen off cause thats whut they told me when i asked them...the girls that were there didnt know about it but some guy that was standing behind them said that it fell off and my friends that were roaming around w/out me and my other friend were there when it happened...it just fell off when someone hit the trunk release button. but that is really weird how just hitting the trunk release button would send the spoiler flying off like it did...i think it may have made contact with the rear window tho.. who knows i just hope they fix the problem cause that will be a lot of pissed off 2003.5 msp owners. i know i would be if i ever get my hands on one.

That sounds more likely...

That sounds a lot more likely than someone being able to get out of the show with a spoiler under their coat! :) I'm sure the girls didn't really know anything, but that didn't stop me from asking them about it. :)

It looked to me when I looked at where the spoiler was attached that it didn't have four bolts holding it on, so I was wondering if maybe it was a prototype or not complete 2003.5. It looked like there were only two bolts cause I could only see two holes on the under side of the trunk lid... poor MSP... to be robbed of its dignity like that. :(
