Talked to my Mazda dealership lately and I asked then if they install turbo gauges...They never did but quoted me a 200$ installation price (and I supply my own gauge and pod).

Is it just me or that seems a tad overpriced???!!!(uhm)

You guys know of any good place in NE Ohio to get it installed?
Oh, yeah, and I don't trust myself to do it!

maybe a local board member could help you install them. or they could do it for a cheaper price

you're talking about installing a boost gauge right ? why don't you just ask local members to help install it for you ?

yeah, that's pretty high for fishing an air line through the firewall and tapping into your cars illumination wire. Unless you are planning on doing this to maintain your warranty, I would just do a stealth install.

It's not hard to do.

THat's garbage.... even if they charge normal work time a gauge install is only 1/2 hour job (by the book) so it should only be $25 -30. Shops usually charge about 50 - 60 dollars a hour. I just think that they don't want to do it.

If you do some searches, there are some really detailed instructions on this forum. My first try at the boost gage install went pretty smoothly....so you may want to give it a try.

Why would a boost gauge not maintain your warranty?

You need to tap into a vacuum line. Could cause a vacuum leak. If you tap into your cars electrical system - technically they might try to say you are tampering with it.

Yes, I know you can go to www.enjoythedrive.com and see what you are "legally" entitled to. However, realize that you would need to take on a dealership in court to do so. It's been covered a multitude of times on this forum, and many others.

If I were this guy, I would just do it myself. It's not hard, it's been detailed all over the forum. I did mine.

Yeah, installing a boost gauge is easy...you'll have no problems doing it yourself. If you don't feel comfortable then just hit up a local forum member...many of the people here have already installed gauges in their car, and could help you out :)

Well thanks for the response guys.
Yeah, the fact that they quoted 200$ probably means that they don't want to do it...

INGREXCO: it`s Mazda of Wooster

Anybody willing to give me a hand? I'm in Akron, OH.
$ and beer sounds good? PM me!

Its a joke its so easy. I installed mine a couple weeks ago, came out great, almost looks factory. Its slick. Took a few hours just because it was the 1st time and I was being careful.

I could install another one now in 20-30 minutes having done it. Someone local should be able to show you how.

Sorry, I haven't been on here in like a month. I could give you a hand sometime if my schedule ever lightens up. I have boost, oil temp and oil pressure gauges that I'll be installing in my MSP if we get a nice Saturday or Sunday when I'm actually home. Then we should be able to get yours done pretty quickly.

Na, I'll do it for $185, but he'll have to pay for my airline ticket and hotel for a week. Not to mention rental car, food, beer, and stuff! LOL!! :)
