2.0 bp start up and build pics in AWD MX3

so i have the engine together and in the car. still need to finnish the exhaust, but you will get the idea. i will have some real vid footage here in a few weeks. but for now this will have to work.

the Cams are so big the thing wont hardly idle. i will get the stand alone in soon, hopefully by the end of sept. im just going to tune it with the VAF and FPR untill i get the SDS system in.

here is a brake down of what i have put in it so far.


Block:
-Carillo rods
-micropollished crank
-weisco pistons
-over bore to 1995cc
-resurfaced
-entire rotating assembly balanced, with flywheel and harmonic balancer
-mazda speed oil pump
-GTR Water pump

Head:
-1mm over bore on intake and exhaust valves
-ss and backcut
-custom length valves to go with the cams
-Stage 5 E production racing cams 286 duration, and a whopping 11.38mm lift
-head was ported to gasket before i got it, so no need.
-Eibach EVS valve springs
-Jun performance cam gears

Turbo stuff:
-GTR Intake mani untill i get my custom mani finnished
-Maita custom tubular manafold
-Subi flanges
-Subi VF12
-Greddy RS BOV
-2 1/4" IC piping
-3" Cork Sport FMIC
-custom 3" Down pipe to a cut off then 2.5" back

sounds very nice. someone needs to make a bp conversion kit for a 3rd gen protege.. :)
 
Impressive work.

However, have you've bored the engine, alone, to 1995cc or are you increasing the stroke as well? The BP's cylinder walls are dangerously thin being bored to such a high displacment.
 
1995 is well within tolerances. its what my toda build was, with just overbore. its what the toda race engine has to
 
well the engine is new and i dont want to get on it too hard yet. but it hits 10 psi at 2K rpms. and the cams take it all the way to redline. i thought this turbo would be plenty big, but i might have to go bigger. we will see. 1995cc is about as big as one would want to go on a bore increase. i still have a bit to do. i should be able to hit 300 to 350 to the wheels with this turbo. i will keep everyone posted

Currently the car is down as I am redoing almost everything minus the engine. Installing a SDS stand alone and re-fabricating the way I installed the rear end. Tones of additions, and rare Euro and Japan parts that I have collected for it. Shouldn't be much longer until I have it on the road again.
