nice shots, but you should tell your boyfreind to get a real hobbie.
get on a bike,or skateboard or something.

i would say, take those kinda shots of like where the camera is under the skater while their doing a grind or something, or like doing a trick over a set of stairs while your at the bottom of the stairs looking up u kno? like the kinda pics u see in the skateboarding vids

I am not a fan of photos from the back of people.
I only shoot from there backside if it's video, and a fallow scene, otherwise I really try to keep their face in it.(it really helps put emotion into the pic.)

first 1 is best 1

I know absolutely nothing about photography but......

I agree w/ you. When I opened this thread and viewed the first pic I immediately thought of fluid motion. It seems balanced. Just my opionion.

First one is definitely the best! It's well balanced in the frame, shows motion by having that empty space where the subject is, and as someone else said, having the face in the picture brings out so much emotion.

great shots! I used to aggressive inline skate back in the day on a team, and I used to do filmography in conjunction with a lot of sponsored skaters. You should look into purchasing a wide angle or a fish eye lens. Do some low-angle closeups with that.

thanks guys. :D the one of the back of the kid was a lucky shot. i had a close up lens on and just caught him in the action.

yes my boyfriend can skateboard too. ha. i just asked him what picture he liked best and he picked that one :P

and no not only 4 pix i shot 2 36 exposure rolls. i just didnt pick out very many to post :P

if u want more just let me know. wasnt sure if you all wanted me to post pix of my bf hahaha. thats what their mostly of. not to mention all face shots also.

i might add a few more a little later.

yeah, i figured u had more. I like the suggestion tengo had about acually getting down in there and getting some nice pics. I know its a bit easier to stand back and use the telephoto lense though, wouldnt hurt to jump in there yourself and grab a few with a wide angle tho, well....you might get hurt lol, just hold on to ur camera good. Post a few more if u got them, I always like to see someone still using film, digital is a b**** lol. I have a s*** load of nice shots of everything from skateboarding to lightning and tornadoes but I dont have a damn scanner:(

awe man, id liek to see those.

yeah i have no prob getting in there. iw as in a few of the bowls, oen fo the shots i jsut added to the main post was from inside. i even took one of him jumping over me but his whole body doesnt fit in the picture. :] thanks for the advice, i was impressed for my first shoot. i thought forsure i had been cutting off arms and other body parts but some of them actually turned out pretty good.

I like those 4 new ones you posted, try getting any of those action shots with a digital lol. Im sure you have posted it somewhere else before but what camera and lense(s) are you using? I have a Canon EOS RebelX with a Sigma 24-70mm and a Tokina 80-400mm along with tons of filters and the such. Oh, and I also have a Nikon FG-20 with a fixed 50mm lense, that camera is atleast 20 years old and I usually just shoot B&W film in it. I think my best shot ive gotten with my Canon was a dusk space shuttle launch with the moon off to the side, it was shot at F-22 so the back is all blown out black but the moon and everything else shows up great. I had my x2 adaptor on at the time so I think it was probaby at 700mm or so, im really gonna have to borrow the neighbors scanner or something lol.

Do you have a problem with people stealing your pics? The size of those watermarks really become a distraction. For myself, I figure if I'm not selling my photography then feel free to use it. Pass on the creativeness.

That's why you need a wide angle lens.

Check these out... Here's two pics of me skating this pool we found in an old apartment complex. The filmer is one of my friends Lee Brooks. He's going to be featured in a magazine sometime soon of a bunch of his photos.
