Ok so im goin to be selling my dirtbike here soon so im gonna have about 1k layin around for the car...so my question is what would you use this money for? thanks!

i want to do some performance upgrades but idk what route i should go with that...im new to the whole turbo car scene.
 
I'd look into springs at the very least. Maybe a good performance shock. Not sure if you can get bilsteins for mazda, but I've had a few sets of those and really liked them.
 
What are your goals with this car? Speed? Turning?

Honestly, the car has a good suspension as is and I wouldn't worry about that too much atm. Work on getting a TMIC, exhaust, ways to get some more speed out of your car. When the hp starts to go up is when *I* think it's necessary to toy with suspension.

You think inversely to what I think. Two things you cannot overdo. Brakes and suspension. Power is fab, til you can't stop or turn. Not that the original poster would be close to doing with 1k....but as an overall statement.
 
It's all opinionated. Until the guy knows what he truly wants (power or handling) I don't see how he could make a decision. I'm just stating my opinion and how I would go about doing things.

I know those MS3's handle very well stock, seen it perform.

i say get brakes and suspension after you get more hp the more hp the better stoping and handeling you need as for now the stock one is great but it all depends on the guy if he was performance over suspension, or if he wants the sleeper look or the stand out type

well the suspension and brakes are very good already, im looking more for motor performance atm, so that being said what would you all suggest?

Yes, bigger and more efficient.

I didn't tune when I got my FM. As far as the FMIC being better, I'm not sure there is really any difference. That's a good question to ask. They both have the same functions just in different spots. Someone correct me if I'm wrong..
 
Motor mount is cheap as dirt compared to other mods. Less than $100. Good place to start in my opinion. You could then get new springs for $400 and a downpipe for another $400 all for under $1000. That way you get power, handling, and better power transfer from engine to the wheels.

dont i need a new catback exhaust if i get a new DP?
 
ok, so here is what im thinkin so far
MS CAI
better TMIC
HKS BOV
and a new engine mount, which one would you all suggest?
now will i need to have the car tuned if i do this and will i need to get a new exhaust system?
 
CAI is on order, no? (sig)

Doesn't the MS3 have a bad rep for the horrible mounts? Might want to check into that, if that is completely true to most/all 3's you might want to get that fixed so your engine doesn't fall out like some here have done. (Or whatever happens to them)

IF it were me I'd be doing the CAI and the TMIC. Get some higher numbers at your wheels..teheh
