19s? Too big?

Can someone give me the pros and cons of going with 19" rims? I just think that 18 aftermarket rims look too small on our car, especially if the spokes dont run to the outer lip. I want 19" 5Zigen 5zrs for my MS3. Will these fit?

I can tell you definitively that as long as the offset is correct, and the final tire height is correct, and the width of the wheel and tire are correct, then it will fit.

Furthermore, they are selling 19's on Tirerack, and if they are, then they WILL fit.

yea they will fit. Not to long ago on cardomain I saw a guy have 20s on his Mazda3

Be careful with the rim and tire width stock 18x7 and 215 are both narrow. I agree if tire rack sells it your set as for tire size google "miata tire size calculator". Just be carefull too much offset or rubber and you will be rolling your fenders for clearance.

just be careful. I have seen mazda 3's on 19s and 20s locally and its tight, and turning is tighter.

I have also seen a 3 w/ 19s, hit a bump at a higher speed and the tire made contact with the front fender. Not pretty.

Im not so worried about the "will it fit" bit, im concerned about my handling and acceleration. To be truthful, i dont know crap about all the numbers people are throwing out. 18X7.5 means 18" by 7.5 inches right? What is the best for handling? What will ours allow? Ive heard of people throwing 18X8.5 on our car. Is that better? If so why?

Not only will 19's fit but they look pretty good too. I worked for a Mazda dealership and we put 19's on a black MZ3 and lowered it with the mazdaspeed lowering springs and on the tests we didnt have any problems. The rims we put on were Racing Harts and they looked really good on the 3. Gave it a nice touch.

With a 19" wheel, you'll run tire size 225/40 R19, which is only 1.8% slower on total rolling circumferance, so the total tire size is only slightly bigger. As long as you keep your offset between about 45 and 52 you shouldn't rub, even if you drop the car an inch. Remember to have your speedo recalibrated for the new size otherwise when you're doing 60mph you'll actually be doing 61.1 mph. Anyone have pictures with 19's?

I got pictures but on a pro5. I'm pretty sure they'll fit on a mazda3. Though not sure cuz I've never seen it yet. My tire size is 215/35/19 and they just clear the frame when turning the wheels all the way. Your going to lose some acelleration but high end with be a lot smoother at high speeds. I also suggest rolling the fenders cuz low pro tire look stupid with a big gap. Sh!t if your in hawaii im looking to trade my 19" racing hart c5's the only set on the island for stock mazda speed rims.

18's look pretty big

Sorry man, don't live paradise (Hawaii), just here in Kansas. The Harts look good but I already have to buy some snow tires so I think I'm going to stick to 18" so I can use the stock summer tires I already have. I'm thinking of these in an 18" with a Cobb spring set (1" drop):

Black with Chrome insert. I've got a black mica MS3, think it would look real nice.

**love the wheels MAZDARacing, but ya need to drop that car! Too much wheel well showing!
