My dad recently bought a 1999 protege auto 1.8 with transmission problems. He's looking to fix it and sell it. My question is what's going on with the transmission. The problems it's having is that it's stalls the engine when slowing down for slow traffic. Jerks when it go in reverse. I've been searching and some people say to replace the transmission and some say its the solenoids.
