My neighbor has an old 1970's Mazda pickup. I don't know much about them, only that they are identical to the Ford Courier that was around at the same time. I am interested in the engine/transmission out of this truck for another project. I was wondering if anybody knows if the engine is all cast-iron or iron block, aluminum head? I don't know if it is a 1800cc or 2000cc engine, but just what it's made of would be very useful.

It'll tell you on the truck, the B-#### is the size of the engine. 1972-1976 was the B-1600, '77-'78 was the 1800, and '79+ was the 2000. As far as the engine material, I don't have that info in any of the Mazda literature I have.
