17 Inch Wheels on an MS6

Is anybody running an inch down from the stock wheels? Also wondering if there's any disadvantage to running -1 diameter. I know fitment of bigger/wider tires might be a bit easier, but other than that...? Help me out guys, thanks in advance.

my winters are 17" stock Mazda 6 rims. Wrapped in 205-50-17, no issues. Actually rides smoother, and even my winter tires are quieter then those stock bridgestones....they have to be the loudest tire I have ever owned.

same here, I ran 17s with 225/50/ winters and thought the ride was much better than the stock 18's....I just can't get past how sweet my new rx8 rims look or I'd probably stayed with the 17's lol
