Hey guys whats up. So I been taking a look at my engine bay and I have decided that our MS3 doesnt have the most "attractive" engine bay... i mean, with wires here and there it just looks a little cluttered to me. So.. with that in mind I came up with this quik and cheap way to color up your engine bay and deal with those ghastly wires.
All you need for this is a hand saw, some fine sandpaper, some nice silicone intercooler hoses as well as vacuum hoses. Some plastice wire cover and some electric tape (all these items in your choice of color, I chose red). All you need are basic tools, wrench screwdrivers etc.
So first off I took off the plastic cover for the TMIC. I dont know about everyone else, but I absolutely HATE that extra piece of plastic that hangs over the wires (not to mention it gives my intake and BOV a cluttered look) SoooooOOO..... I cut the motherFING thing off and sanded it down clean. Then I proceeded with removing the TMIC.

Now with that thing off everything is much easier. I bought a pair of silicone intercooler hoses and a few feet of silicone tubing. I removed the stock ones and put them on. Heres the top one

Heres the bottom one along with the tubing.

installed and ready for a test drive. Heres the top one.

So everything works fine and I have a nice splash of color in the engine bay, but WAIT !!! WHat about those ghastly wires that used to be covered by the plastic I removed. Well....... I got some of this plastic wire cover stuff.

And some matching electric tape.

and then BAM !!!!! I covered all the electric wires and taped the ends. For some reason it made all the wires look "less cluttered) and more organized. Here is the finished product.

I spent a total of about $150 bucks on this project and I think it adds a nice touch of color to the MS3's engine bay. It took me about an hour to do the whole thing and it was easy as hell. I just thought I'd share. Next I will probably paint the top of the engine with some engine paint of course.

Sorry, not a fan. (dunno)

Glad that you like it though. :)
+1
Colored Wire loom is soo 90's Ricer its not funny.
The factory black was fine. You say you did this to give it a less cluttered look..But if you ask me..It just draws attention to wires you wouldn't have paid attention to beforehand.
Bad move IMHO. (rice)

And BTW..What in the H$%L! did you spend $150 on?

looks good, but at first glance i was guessing you did a powder coat or something with the intercooler...

i wont bash it, but i would not do it. i would have spent the money on something that would actually DO SOMETHING.
