While it hasn't blown yet, as I'm sure many of you were hoping to see, here's the outcome of a good 14psi for 45,500 hard miles.

This is why you should *not* boost this high unless you want to end up like me or worse.

Cyl #3:

Quite a bit of oil is going through the turbo -> ic pipe and leaking at the joint. Pics below:

Oil pool at the bottom of turbo: (Can't really see it in the pic due to flash, but it's there)

While I knew it was coming, it came at a bit of a bad time now since I don't have a job but good things are coming.

(evil)

I thought so but that'd cause a bit of blowby from my understanding. While there is oil consumption in the turbo, that may be normal. Not sure.. However, I did do the "capful of oil" test when checking compression and all read fine, so if that's right, I'm not sure the rings are to blame.

A leakdown test will show where the compression is going. Oil leakage at the turbo - well it's time for a turbo rebuild.

But yeah, I've read about leakdown tests.. I'll try to find someone to do one soon so I can know "for sure" where it's going.

Hrmm...I wonder how much longer mine will last at 11psi...I'm coming up on 54,000 miles soon. Good luck with the motor probs t3ase.

At 14psi for 45,000 miles I would be happy the car is still running. Thats double the stock boost with no internal mods! That high of boost may be ok occasionaly but no daily. Best of luck to you. We need guinea pigs like you, to show us the limits.

so was this an MSP with an injen intake and what else? did you run any sort of EMS??

p.s. Mine blew the 1 and 2 cylinders not #3. I think any cylinder on this motor is a weakpoint.

AWR MT Front/Rear Mounts
NGK BKR7E-11 Plugs
Walbro In-tank Fuel Pump
Unflashed ECU
JoeP Fuel Cut Defenser
Injen CAI
Dumped S-Pipe
RP Racing 41 Oil
RP Purple Ice & Water

Another blown motor with the Joep FCD. Just like to point out that almost every motor that has blown has a Joep FCD with no engine management. Sorry to hear about the car though. Build it up nice.

The motor didn't blow (yet) you (freak)

Why don't you do a compression and/or leakdown test instead of wondering? (freak)

Better yet, get some forged internals before some con-rods make swiss-cheese of your block.

Logically, you should just wait till it blows, after all a longblock is cheaper than some forged goodies (freak)
