HAHHAHAHHAHAHHA YOUR SO COOL LET ME TELL YA GIVE ME A CALL WHEN YOUR BALLS DROP

you're just proving that you're an idiot.

obviously u dont know s*** about music.
no point arguing with someone who doesnt understand what i'm talking about.

whatever dude.

for your information russian music schools are considered hardest in the world.

i'm out
/threadjack.

Once again, here we are on the net, where people say things they'd never say in a face to face situation.

If in fact you would walk up to that 8 year old kid and tell him to his face that he sucks, than you are nothing less than an arrogant asshole.

I know jazz musicians that say they've spent their whole life 'feeling' the music, as you put it.

Just because you're speciality is qualified on paper doesnt mean you give two s**** about your work. Take a look around.

All I know... if I saw him at a bar I would get his autograph just in case. I wish I could do something that cool at the age of 8. With time, true music and music writing will come to him. And with the help of his fast fingers he just could be amazing.

everyone calm down and step away from the internet. once again, y'all managed to make a nice post go bad.(deadhorse

Wow, this post took a harsh turn.

The kid is talented and it's obvious that some of you don't like his style. But just remember that there are plenty of solo guitarist who are doing the same stuff and getting paid big bucks - Steve Vai, Ingwie Malmsteen, just to name a few. Doesn't matter if you don't like his style of playing or if it seems like it's just too easy for him, the kid has natural playing talent, what he choses to do with it is up to him... and screw all the rest of yas...

Well said, and yeah this kid is nuts.

Oh also Russian Powa :D

Yes lets all act like this kid has no "real" musical talent or rhthm just because we are all jealous that a 12 year old is better than those of us who have been playing since we were 12. I give the kid props. Sweep picking is know easy task and he make it look like a walk in the park.

i give him an impressive, but not breath taking...

metal is not hard to learn, which is why a lot of metal bands really have no true musical knowledge, which is perfectly fine in my books, he's alright, but like others said, he has a long way to come...

ohh boy....I'm just gonna back slowly away from thread before something gets broken. lol

i said A LOT, not all, if you want to b**** about it be my guest, there are obviously bands with true musical knowledge/talent but dont act like it takes that much talent to bang out some power chords... i'm a metalhead with the best of'em, but i'm not going to bulls*** and tell everyone that its a hard genre to master... i have MANY connections with metal bands, trust me when i say a lot of them dont have much TRUE musical knowledge ;)...

ugh I hate when people just say "trust me man just trust me cause i know everything"
No im not gonna blindly trust you. Good music is in the eye of the beholder. I know poeple who will tell me blink 182 has more music talent than dream theatre. Get off your high horse and accept the fact people are gonna disagree with your defenition of "musical talent" and just cause you know a few metal bands that doesnt mean you are more informed than the next musician.
If you look at the whole spectrum of metal you will see some of the most talented musicians on earth.

Oh yea and wtf is this "true" musical knowledge. Its not like music is some ******* paradox with secrets buried under the pyramids. Its music its not hard to learn at all. There are basics and the rest is up to you. Music is all about self expression not following the book.

i just wish i had fingers long enough to attempt to do what he can!! they call me stubby!

h8ers... the kid has talent.. he's 8 for christ's sake. he has incredible dexterity for someone his age and great concentration. Even if he's just doodling about on the guitar, he's doing a FINE job of it for an 8 year old.
if he was 18, you could bash.. but he's 8... how dickless are you guys to say that an 8 year that can play 90% of guitarists under the table has no talent? have you seen today's rock and metal bands? he's just as good as any of them... give the kid 10 years to get in touch with his soul and actually discover hate, pain, happiness and he'll probably end up in a wikkid band.

his dexterity can be applied to lots of things, all you guitarists should be honoured that he chose your instrument instead of a piano, or some s***.

Lol, nice. It's all about losing the innocence.

On a sort of related side note: I remember teasing a friend of mine who really likes BB King because we were watching a BB King interview where he was giving some guitar tips and it went something like this:

BB: "Let's say you are playing a C-chord..." (and then he proceeds to take 5 seconds to find and position his fingers to make a C-chord
boom03.gif
)

I like BB King, but at the time we were all kind of astounded that a musician (and who here would not call him one?) with such soul and clout as BB King would have trouble playing a C-chord.
There is no formula that goes:
((talent + years playing) * years in Julliard) + soul / studio magic * producer's salary = is-this-guy-good?

wow i have to admit... i read all of you replys before hearing this kid..
1. He great. Period.
2.He is very young, no one is saying hes "god"
3.Those of you how claim to be music buffs.. well im sure when you were young you would have killed for half the tallent... or you wish you would have discovered talent like that ealeir in your life.
4. how can anyone hate on this kid or take anything away if hes 12 or 8
5. ive seen this kid play live at a PSU game in the fields ..... he played all sorts of songs... led zep. metalica. creedence, cream, aqll sorts of s***... he was awsome he drew a croud it was a specticle... drunk college kids were hanind ing him beers witch his dad drank lol.

6. final point all of you who hate are just jealous... and regardless to how musicaly inclined you all are... hes gifted.. admit it and put the jealousy behind.

^^ That's awesome that you got to see him live.
Yeah, it's obvious that all the negative replies are just basic jealousy, especially since there are probably many here who play the guitar.

yea didnt know it was him till i saw this thread and was like.. hmm... then i dwn loaded i was like noooo way!!!

lol Ok people let's all just get over yourselves.

There are several things here.
Is good? What does "good" really mean?
Does he have talent? How is this measured?
Did you like it? Complete opinion.

These questions are based on everyones opinion but there are a few facts.
Playing fast is impressive but that's about it. He was playing scales. While playing the scales fast is NOT easy......it's not really "good". So he can play scales fast. I could not even HEAR the video but it was obvious what was going on. Playing fast looks cool and may sound cool to some people but people when you get down to it...he has a long way to go before he could really be considered "good". Think SRV.
