I know this is the one of the most point less mods that can be done to our car, but I am in the process of installing a 115V outlet in my car. Let me know of any ideas while im at it. im putting the plug in the back of the center console where there is an empty plate, and im putting the inverter under my seat. Also I'm putting a switch to turn it off and on in the control pannel (sp?) with the fog lights and light dimmer. I'll post pics later tonight or tomorrow.

Safety measures?

Spilling a coke in your lap at the fast food joint is embarrassing enough, but subsequently electrocuting yourself when you start up the car to leave, after the coke had soaked all the way through to the 120VAC side of the inverter, would really suck.

ita not that bad....lol....it in the back seat...they will have to sign a waiver...j/k

Road trips of course. If you've got kids, bringing along a few electronic devices isn't that bad of an idea. Perfect for a laptop.

ok...

I though you were going to use a mini fridge or something lol

if you got kids go for this one! looks better also when it's closed....?

That is very cool. I am very interested in how to do this since I have kids also and the best I have done so far is get a converter from radioshack for the lighter.

omg lol @ a standard home plug outlet and plate inside the car.. that's awesome.

I've always wanted to do this mod myself but just haven't gotten around to it.

well now im only waiting for some money to come my way so i can buy the inverter..... :( hopefully soon though

well its all done!!......it looks done...lol.....i can run my laptop off of it...and i was thinking a coffee maker or something like that, with a seperate on/off switch just to make sure it doesn't drain my battery...even though the key has to be on for it to work
