Quick question regarding the street resolution on an 09 nav. In some neighborhood areas I can't see street names on the nav display. I tried zooming in and out. I can see the actual streets just fine. Are some street names just not displayed based on the "size" of the street? Or, is there some preference setting that has turned off the street name display of minor streets? I can setup routes to addresses on these streets so obviously the street names are in the database.

The display of street name is based a software algorithm.
The algorithm takes into account where you are (usually the road you are on and the nearest cross streets have their names displayed) and current zoom level. Obviously no one wants too many names displayed on one screen. I don't think there is a setting you can tune on 2008. Not sure about 2009.
Another way you can do to force the display of street name is to use your finger to touch the street line, the NAVI will display the closest street you touched at the top. The NAVI also display the approaching crossroad at the bottom.
