09 MS3 Transmission Noise @ Idle

I own a stock '09 MS3 w/ 1500 miles. From day one the transmission has made a slight noise when parked w/ the engine running. When I depress the clutch pedal to the floor, the noise disappears. I saw an older thread that suggested that the noise is from the throwout bearing and is typical of the MS3. On every other car that I've owned, such a noise has been indicative of a failing input shaft bearing.

Any new news on this noise? Anything to worry about, or am I an overly paranoid new car owner?

Many thanks!

overly paranoid....

the throwout bearing is for sure the cause of this.

+1 i agree. it's usually just the throwout bearing. nothing to worry about. you'll hear it more if upgrade your trans mount.

What is this constant fascination with the "throw-out bearing"??? It has nothing to do with the noise described by the OP.

To the OP: Rotating mechanical parts (in your transmission) make noise.

Press the clutch pedal in and the noise stops because all of the mechanical parts in your transmission are no longer moving (rotating).

It's as simple as that.
