09.25.09 FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS: Addison, IL

fail! nobody was stirring trouble either...

I did find it hilarious though that a lot of cars followed mazdateam through culvers and the bank to strats.
 
I was reading over on JC that some lady from the fitness place bitched to the cops and wanted everyone to leave. I also read that someone got arrested and their car got flatbedded out. That s*** ****** SUCKED. Oh well.. It was fun while it lasted..
 
I need to make the next one, I have excellent Cop skills. Aside from the owners of the parking lot complaining, and people being out right jackasses they have no right to run y'all off. I doubt the local fast food chains/businesses mind all that extra traffic coming through. It's a good thing for them as well as the town of Addison, extra tax revenue. Hell even the cops make out better than they normally would considering at least one or two people are going to be assholes and they'll write a few extra tickets each month. Hopefully I'll be able to go next time. I'd love to talk to the officer and find out why we are being harassed and asked to leave. Without proper cause he needs to move on before 200+ people file a complaint against him(possibly more than one officer badge numbers are great to have) for harassment. I have no problem sticking it to authority figures and "The Man".

The cops were spectacularly douche-tastic. I guess they need to find a new venue. It only takes one bitter owner to mess up a peaceful meet for everyone.
 
ha, glad i didnt waste my time, ryz drove all the way to doggie diner lol and nobody was there, then kamil called me and told me they broke up the FNL and was heading over to doggie diner and i was down the street and so i went there, and when i get there, there is like who has the ghettoest chevy car club there lol
 
Apparently there was a mass text list and thats how everyone found out about D&Bs. I guess they went into D&B and asked the manager/owner if they could be there and they said it was fine. The cops came over there too but couldn't do anything because the property owner said they could be there. The supposed plan now is to hold FNLs at D&B there.

I mentioned this earlier, all the businesses including the city and police gain revenue from this evener. If by buddies bar had the space I'd get in touch with the folks putting this together and let them know where it's at. They couldn't handle more than 50-100 cars in their lot. Though they'd love the business.
 
******* cops come through twice at 8:30. 30 minutes after the meet had officially started saying, "Everyone's gotta go. Now. Tow trucks come in 5 minutes!" So we scramble to get on the phones and see what's going on and where we can go. A second wave of cops comes through like, "Get off the phones NOW and get in a car!" My friend even said a cop told him, "If you don't get in a car now, you will be arrested!"

Douchebags. Whoever called them can blow me.
 
Addison cops are assholes, they can't handle a few cars on the parking lots. lame asses
 
I may put my buddy Keyton on to this. He's a journalist, get him to interview a few of the local business owners. I'm pretty sure most of them love the increased traffic and business that comes along with this meet. See if he can get it in the local Addison paper, hell at the least contact the city and discuss this with them. The location is great for that meet. It shouldn't need to be changed due to the tight ass police and the empty gym. The gym closes at around 8pm, even though it's a 24/7 gym.

If Winfield had more room and businesses downtown I'd talk to the city about having it here. They close one of the streets every Monday for a classic car night. They'd love the business and increased traffic, but their aren't enough food establishments to cover all those people let alone the parking space. I know a great spot right off of I88 and I355 we could possibly recommend, there are plenty of places to eat though the only a few that you can walk to. Right next to where I work, is a huge parking lot off of Butterfield Rd. in Downers Grove. Olive Garden and North Beach are there. I think North Beach might be the only one that might complain, but I'd half expect they'd get some good business from a meet this large. If anyone has the contact info for the organizers of Friday Night Lights PM me and I'll pass along the info and see whats what. The parking lot is much much larger, and you can also walk to Hooters!
 
And you would get to deal with all the douche's going to north beach. Has anyone ever been there besides me? It's basically an underage drinking and std hole. I've never seen so many 19 year olds on the bar in short skirts with no underwear on. I almost threw up.
 
I think JDM Chicago is contemplating moving FNL to Dave & Busters where they all ended up after Nana's. They specifically stated that they will NEVER go to Nana's again.

That sucks for Nana's I bet they looked forward to that. As for North Beach I agree Bill. It's a pretty crappy place but the lot is big and there are plenty of people who'd end up there at some point. My point was mostly that someone else would love to have 200+ people show up once a month and boost their revenue.
