I do not know what to get? I could get the Z4 for 32 plus tax and liecense and is a beast. But I think that is all. Not sure about handling. I hate heavy cars. I had an 09 MS3 and hated the weight and FWD. I drove and 09 new MX5 and loved it. Should I get an 08 with hard top and grand touring that is 29k and they sell it for 23k?

What should I do?

If you hate weight and have $30K to spend, why not get a used Elise...Have you considered an '04 or '05 MSM? With the money you save, you can put a few extra ponys under the hood to match the straightline of the M.

the M is out... to expensive and drove 3 of them and they just seem so disconnected. Its like you are not driving. Too plush. I will stick to my goal of a RWD, manual and no luxury. SO a miata it is... I saw a 04 MSM for 13k... Is that ok?

I would definitely drive one and consider it. It is a wee bit smaller than the 06-10 Miata but I think the power to weight ratio is perfect and the sky is the limit when it comes to mods.

MSMs can be had for short money and they offer a lot. Thinks to condier when buying an MSM, look for mods, like most cars, try to avoid them unless they have been tastefully done. The "GT" package was the big option for MSMs it designates leather seats and cloth top (GT) vs cloth seats and vinyl top (non-GT). There doesn't appear to be a large difference in used pricing between the two. They come in four colors:

2004 - Velocity Red and Titanium
2005 - Velocity Red, Titanium, Black Mica and Lava Orange Mica.

The factory burned limiting production for the '05s to less than half of the planned run. Check my Cardomain for pics and vids.

I think the plan to buy a new MX-5 GT is the good choice. Others have their preferences; but, it's hard to beat a Miata. They handle well and have good reliability. If you start looking at used Mazdaspeeds, you're probably looking at someone else's problems. There's a good chance the car has had a rough life. A new GT will have a warranty and that smell of new at a price that's hard to beat. I looked at used Miatas, etc before I bought my '06 Sport. I'm picky and didn't like what I saw in the used market. I bought new at a price I could have bought a used Mazdaspeed for.

case is closed... i got a 08 new mx 5 grand touring with soft top and premium, suspension and something else for 20k plus tax and liecense. The car's MSRP was 27800. Good deal I think. They also had a barebones sport with 16k but was sold so I got the best next thing. They wanted to push me on a 30k car that had the aero pkg and some other gizmos but I sad no thanks.
