A little too bling bling for my tastes, but they look nice. May wanna seriously consider lowering it now, though.

if you were going for that look you should of got a set of spinner rims they are sweet as hell seen them at importexpression

Expensive as hell, though. Someone else posted those here and it's from some Italian company if I remember correctly.. I wasn't too impressed as, again, it's not my personal style but they would be good for shows. *shrug*

nah, theres rules to purchasing wheels ... never buy a set that cost more than the car ... lol but thanks for replying ...

expensive ... nah not @ all ... since the Market has gotten big for 20" chromes & up the market for 17" rims have been low ... but i did pay a little extra for the Michelins ... they would have been alot more cheaper with khumos ...

but i was kind of expecting responses like yours because i know most in here are into silver racing wheels ... racing mods ect ...

And as far as lowering it ... nah, i do to much traveling ... only had the car for 5 weeks and i already have 4k ....! Plus, in my opinion the wheel to wheel well ratio is perfect ... not too much space and not too less (if you understand what i am saying) ...

oh and by the way you said someone else posted these rims ... did they just post a pic of the rim ... or was it a pic with these rims on their car ...? i might have to take mines back ....lol

thanks for the responses ...

bling bloaw. lookin okay. maybe it would have a better affect to it if you converted the front end to mp3/mp5 and some side skirts, just my opinion

vonprotege

thanks for your reply ... you are definitelly right ... side skirts ect ... would definitelly increase the look ... but im not trying to invest that much money into my MP ... just wanted a nice set of chromes for the summer and they will be up for sale in the Fall ... lol

also thanks for clearing the MP3/MP5 thing for me ... because like i said im new to the board and was wondering what MP3 meant ... i knew MP = Mazda Protege but the 3 part thru me off ...

just so i got this ...

MP3 = Mazda Speed
MP5 = Mazda Protege 5

nah, MP3 is the exact name, the mazda MP3, it's a 2001 only version of the protege ES rebadged as the MP3. Came only in Mica blue, and Bright ass yellow. Comes with a lot of performance enhancements, like 17" rims and an mp3 player for a radio. MP3 doesn't break down into anything. The new turbo mazdaspeed we call the MPS, because when mazda came out with it, they called it the Mazda Performance Series, or Mazdaspeed Performance Series, something like that. MP5, does break down to Mazda Protege5 =)

MP3 = 2001 Mazda MP3
MP5 = 2002-2003 Mazda Protege5 (wagon)
MPS = 2003 Turbo Mazdaspeed Protege

thanks for clearing that up ... MP3 is a pretty cool name for a car ... to bad i wasnt looking for one back in 2001 ... lol

is there any reason why they stop production on the MP3 ...? i was thinking that maybe the MPS replaced it but according to what your are saying 03 is the 1st year for that model ...

thanks

well the MP3 was promised as just a limited edition special model (1500 made) protege, and it was for a time. Most reviews of the car were something like, "This car is perfect, all it needs now is a turbo and everyone will want one", and so Mazda went back on what they said about limited edition, and made a turbo MP3, and called it the mazdaspeed. There are a lot of differences between the MP3 and the MPS, but basically they took the MP3, and "changed 1,000 things about it" and called it somethign else. The Mazdaspeed was supposed to be limited edition too (2000 made), and now they are coming out with a 2003.5 edition of the mazdaspeed with no foglights, and slight other changes, but basically the same, and not limited in production, apparently.
