03 Protege DX no 3rd gear!

Hi all....

I have an '03 Protege DX 2.0 ltr. with 119k miles that won't shift in to 3rd gear. Check engine light started going on and off about 2 weeks ago...then 3 days ago it started having the shifting problem.

If I leave OD on, when it comes to where it should shift in to 3rd, you can hear engine revving and it's like it's in neutral.

If I put OD to off, it runs but you can tell it's never shifting up to 3rd.

(I had tranny flushed by transmission shop approx. 3 months ago, long before problem ever appeared)

Here's what I've done to fix it so far;

1. The air intake hose had a huge crack in it, so I thought for sure that had to be the problem, but it didn't fix it. (although it does run much better) It still will not go in to 3rd, and check engine light is no longer on.

Any Ideas?? I would really appreciate any/all help you guys can give me!

Update!

Hi again. After testing, it turns out solenoid D & E aren't working. (no clicks on test)

Does that sound right to anyone? 2 solenoids going out at the same time?
