Daaaaamn, nice boy! Tell you what... we can swap motors and transmissions, you can have my working motor and transmission, I'll take this motor and broken 3rd gear transmission ;)

This will make someone a very nice christmas present!!!
Well it was looking really good there for a while, but I think I'm going to back away from this. It's a great deal for sure, but I'm not very thrilled about buying a car that already needs fixing. If I knew for sure what needs to be fixed then that would make it a whole lot easier, but not knowing for sure if the whole tranny needs to be rebuilt or if it's just one gear doesn't make me too comfortable with the purchase.

Also, you probably want to point out the cracked windshield. It's not a huge thing, but you really should point out all the known defects of the car if you're trying to sell it online.

I'm sorry to bail out on you, but I just feel like I would regret this at a later date. You'll sell it for sure cuz it's priced way cheap, but it's just not for me. Good luck dude.

Its up to you! I tell ya what, i'll fix the tranny and sell it to ya for $12K and you can drive it home! Seriously though i am 99% sure that 3rd gear is the only problem. Every other gear i went to worked fine on the short drive (4 blocks) back to the house.. But again its entirely up to you.
Here are some things to think abou though, how much is it going to cost to tubocharge your car? your also going to have to build a motor or blow yours up, and the final thing, do you think you will ever find a stupid cheap deal like this anytime soon? There almost $9k under the hood!

Junk yard tranny FTW! Frost just got his for less than 200. Ripped it off of a probe. It would get you by until you decide how to address the problem ...

the tranny isnt too hard to get off the engine...you can drop it without pulling the motor

just pull it, replace the third gear and go

if you wanna be a nice guy about it then get your gears cryo treated and the lsd welded....

krayzie_fox....you should still buy this man, youll regret not later on =P

Where are you guys finding these cheap transmissions anyway? If that's the case, then this might still happen. I checked around a couple junkyards and didn't find any less than $1200.

idk if the gear ratios are different but look for a P5 tranny, youll have better luck there

you could either install the lsd into that, leave the lsd out of the new tranny, or you could just swap the gears into the old tranny

hell you could probably get a set of the GTX gears and swap them in and go (thumb)

I do believe they're the same tranny minus the LSD. Lemme do some more searching, because I still want this car pretty bad.

Ive got a probe trans in mine.. Havent driven it yet because of an axle issue I had when pulling the msp trans out.. Id be interested if I had my turd sold.. This really is one hell of a deal..
