Meet moved to 4/19/09

Due to bad weather we have decided to reschedule the Cinci/NKY meet and cruise to 4/19/09. we apologize for the inconvenience. We have had 1 bad accident in the past due to cruising during bad weather, I would rather keep us safe and take a bit more than 2 weeks to go ahead and continue the meet in a better climate.

We at the Cincy/Nky RX-8 club have been planning a spring meet and grill for

couple months.

3/29/09

MEET & GRILL

Devou Park

We will meet at the top parking lot of Devou Park.

Directions:

1) If you are coming South on I-75 you will get off of the first exit when you
cross the bridge. It is exit 192, 5th Street, Covington/Newport. When you
get off the exit you will immediately have to go right or left. You want to
go to the right toward Ludlow. Turn right at the stop sign. Go through 1
stop sign and you will be right in front of a Hampton Inn. As soon as you
pass it Western Ave will be on the left. Turn left onto Western Ave.
Follow the road till you see a sign for Devou Park. There is a small green
sign on a pole on the left or there is a bigger one on the right. You will
make a real sharp right hand turn which will point you in the direction you
just came. Make sure you keep going to the right and you will find yourself
at the top of the lookout with a large parking lot in front of you. We will
be there.

2) If you are coming North on I-75
Take exit 192, 5th Street Covington, Newport
Turn Left at the light.
At the second light turn left onto 3rd Ave.
Stay right till you pass the Hampton Inn
Turn left onto Western Ave. Go about .75 miles
Take SHARP Right into Devou Park and keep going toward the right till you
are at the top.

3 PM

CRUISE

Current idea: Route 8 from Devou Park up heading to Indiana

by the OH river.

AFTER CRUISE

Turn around and head over to Willie's Sports Caf for those

who would like some beers and more food.

If anyone has any recommendations please post up!

There is enough time to plan ahead.

It should be a great time to chill and hang out

With our local Car aficionados.

It is open to all car enthusiasts so please pass the word!

Last time we had some cars getting lost ... so if you have

2 way radios... bring them with you!!

Hopefully by then i'll have my Header installed (which showed up today) as well as have ordered and installed my intake and exhaust cams I might hit that up though

Update:
I just wanted to let everyone know that the cruise will take place along side the ohio river heading to a little town called rabbit hash and back. The roads heading to the town are perfect for the cruise so dont forget to bring you cameras

I'll be heading down for this, anyone else from a little further up north coming? I hope you guys won't mind a lowly little P5 coming along. Hell, I'm sure I burn just as much, if not more oil than you rotary guys

If I had a current license on it, I'd bring my Protege ES along with the Speed6 (well, someone else would be driving it!). A Mazda is a Mazda as far as I am concerned.

High of 43 with a 60% chance of rain, hmm... not really good cruising weather.

Well if it isn't pouring at 2 PM or so I'll still probably show up. I probably will not be attending if it's a wash-out though.

^^^ 4/19/09 is going to be a tough date for a lot of us to make. That's the day after the Midwest Mazda Meet and a lot of people will still be in Indy that morning. I figured this would be a pretty big event over on the RX8 forums considering it's the Indy RX8 Club that's organizing the meet.

The indy meet is on fri-sat... which i will most likely be there! HOWEVER in my way back home sunday I will meet the Cincy mazda crew at 3pm which works perfect!!

Yep, works out perfectly almost I'm pretty sure a couple of us are going to make this from the M3F's since it only adds about 50 minutes to our ride home on Sunday after Mazdafest.
