$6600 OBO Car is located in Peoria, IL White exterior, black cloth interior. Automatic transmission with the manumatic option. Interior is very clean (will post pics shortly). It has been a daily driver here in IL, so there is some small exterior cosmetic issues, but hard to see >5 feet...

Touch up small scratches in paint

I used this awhile back on my 2005 Jet Black BMW M3: http://drcolorchip.com/ It works pretty well and only takes ~30 mins of work (+drying time) for the front of the car, give or take depending on how many chips that you have. It doesn't *fill* any of the chips / scratches; it just colors them...

Can I change the Idle on P5?

I picked up some seafoam yesterday, but can't seem to find the DIY on how to use it on this car. I normally would do 1/2 into the engine oil, 1/2 into the fuel tank. However, from reading around it sounds like the vac line is the way to go, but I can't find it under the "How To" section (tried...

Can I change the Idle on P5?

Any reason why my idle is so high? I just got the car on Saturday, so it may be that I've only seen it at initial start-up at that high. Is there any way to reduce the idle down below 1000 rpm?

Can I change the Idle on P5?

What should the "normal" idle be at for the engine? I'm at ~1500 rpm currently, and feel as thought that may be a bit high - is that what everyone else sees?

    P5orDIE's 02 P5

impressive work! I just picked up mine on Saturday; not as bad on rust as yours, but still not good...I'm going to have to do some grinding eventually to fix some of the rust. Subscribed!

Just picked up my 2003 Protege 5 yesterday from Chicago

I wonder how much of a job it is to respray the engine block / surrounding components with some paint to protect it. Probably not worth the effort but eventually I'd like to clean some of it up. Glad to see I'm not the only one though.

    60k Mile Maintenance

Where is this DIY located? I searched the "how-to" section and couldn't find it. Can anybody post the link? I just want to make sure I go through the right steps...so far I'm planning to do 1/2 in the fuel tank, 1/2 in the engine oil, but it appears some people like to do 1/3's and enter the...

An option for those looking for a switchblade remote keyfob

Hope this isn't a repost, but what is everybody's thoughts on this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/01-03-2001-2002-2003-MAZDA-PROTEGE-5-FLIP-KEY-REMOTE_W0QQitemZ250527606553QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item3a549be719 It's not as OEM looking as the other option, but...

Just picked up my 2003 Protege 5 yesterday from Chicago

Sounds good. I don't think there's any major issue with it being seized (it's the rear brake after all) for the time being as I drove it >150 miles to come home. I'd like to get it taken care of it though so I be sure to take it to the local autobody shop to do as I don't have any resurfacing...
