High Mileage CX-5s - report in

I'm at just over 58,000 primarily highway miles on my 2013 CX5 touring AWD, not a single mechanical issue to date.

    Wheel offset range

Not yet, I'll take some today if I have a chance.

    What's in store for the '17 CX-5?

I would love to see the 2.5 turbo in a CX5 or even the 2.2 diesel if Mazda ever gets around to bringing it to NA. I'd replace my 2013 with a diesel or 2.5 turbo in a heartbeat.

    Wheel offset range

I just fitted 20x8.5" wheels with a 38mm offset with 255/45R20 tires on my 2013 AWD touring lowered with H&R springs and have no rubbing issues at all. The tires and wheels sit nice and flush with the fender openings.

    Bridgestone Dueler h/l ecopia 422 & experiences on CX-5

I've been running a 235/45 Hankook A/T on my CX5 for some time now including through the winter. It's an exceptional tire, it does create more noise than the stock yokos but I don't notice it and never have any passengers comment, so it's not bad. They handle really well in pretty much any...

How many miles do you have?

    The Best "CUV" I've seen

I'm not sure what the specs for towing are for the CX5 2.2 diesel overseas but if that were to make it to this side of the pond it may be just the ticket to maintain excellent mileage but have better towing capacity?

First long trip coming up, up to the UP

You definitely have to watch it up there, I was up there for a bike race a few weeks ago and saw a lot of state troopers throughout the UP. Glad they let you off with just a warning. I did a little over 800 miles round trip and averaged 27.7mpg with some spirited driving mixed in, so you're...

    2010 Mazda cx-7 wheels on 2014 Mazda cx-5?

Agreed, I believe they should fit with no issue. If you plan on going black it's worth spending a bit more to have them powdercoated instead of painted before you get tires mounted and balanced. It will hold up much better in the long run.

    CX-5 + Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S

Nice write up. Very similar to my experience with my CX5 touring AWD. I installed a set of 235/65R17 Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10 all terrain tires shortly after purchasing it. I also have a set of OEM 19's with the stock Toyo tires. It's a much rougher ride with the 19's (although I have H&R...

How many miles do you have?

Put another 818 miles on mine this weekend for a mountain bike race, should turn over 27,000 today. Averaged 27.7mpg on the trip loaded down with gear and with two mountain bikes on the rack on the back! Can't knock that, especially considering I wasn't driving to maximize mileage.

How many miles do you have?

Figured I would revive this one, I'm now at just over 26,000 trouble free miles in less than a year of ownership with my 2013 touring AWD. Anyone creeping up on 100,000 miles yet?

Which Crossbars to buy if CX-5 doesn't have a roof rack?

I used Yakima control towers with #11 landing pads (IIRC) on mine along with 48" crossbars before I purchased a hitch and Kuat NV rack to haul my bikes around. I was very happy with that setup.

Is it worth it to run Snow Tires in Winter??

I'm sure TireRack or any of the big tire shops can hook you up with proper steel or alloy wheels in a proper fitment for the CX5. I'm just running an all terrain Hankook Dynapro ATM on my original 17" alloy wheels during the winter and it's much better than the stock tires would have been but I...

Dealership props - above and beyond service!

I see a lot of people on here talking about their poor dealership experiences but not many talking about good ones so I thought I would swim against the current. I had to get my oil changed the other day and couldn't make it to the dealership so I went to a reputable place here in town (I know...

    Lug Nuts

Exactly right, I put some black stainless steel tuner lug nuts on mine with matching locking lugs. I bought them from Jegs performance online for $25-$30 if I remember correctly. Very common size and type of lug nut with many options available.

    H&R lowering springs

Coming from a 2013 Mazdaspeed 3 to my CX5 I had to readjust a bit too from late braking. I will say the H&R springs firm up the ride overall and I although I haven't made a mental note of it I'm certain it would reduce nose drive under hard braking.

    Kayaking and the CX-5

I would use bow and stern tie downs for sure but you're going to need something to stabilize the kayak laterally as well. I would personally install a rack with crossbars, it's not worth risking damaging your vehicle or potentially some pretty expensive kayaks. I had a Yakima rack with control...

Fuel door release sticking, possible corrosion issue?

I have a 2013 CX5 touring and recently began having issues with the fuel door release lever. I'm thinking it's corrosion related due to road salt in the winter but I'm not sure. I have weathertech mats but some snow/slush et al still manages to get everywhere despite having good all weather...
