    2007 mazdaspeed 3 - SOLD

2007 mazdaspeed 3 65k miles. Clear title. No accidents. $12,500. Very clean. I am the second owner. I purchased the car in 08' with 16k miles on it. I added tinted windows ($450) and an aftermarket XM radio. The car runs perfectly with only a few very minor door dings and a couple of...

    Engine missing/backfiring on acceleration

I just had my 07 in the shop (local oil change place, not a Mazda shop) for a 60k fluid change yesterday. The mechanic also performed a "tune up" and by that I think all he did was replace the plugs. I'll have to double check. Anyway, The car drove fine yesterday and this morning. Tonight...

Adding Seafoam into the throttle body

Sorry, yes I meant EGR. I figured it's worth a shot. The idea of removing the EGR valve and cleaning it manually is too daunting for me.

Thank you! So there is no need to block off the other end of the BB line?

Adding Seafoam into the throttle body

The directions on the can state to spray into the throttle body. It's a royal pita to get to the TB. That's why I'm asking for other solutions, if any.

Adding Seafoam into the throttle body

Thanks guys. I looked around and found one or two but nothing with precise instructions. The instructions on my can call for it to be sprayed directly into the throttle body, not the brake boost line. I'm still a bit unclear as to the proper procedure using the BB line. For example, I'm...

Adding Seafoam into the throttle body

Thanks guys. Do you have to bleed the line or anything like that? I assume that you still run the engine for 5 minutes while spraying seafoam into the line? Any links to a thread on the proper procedure to do this?

Adding Seafoam into the throttle body

Any thoughts on how I can find the right vacuum line?

Adding Seafoam into the throttle body

How difficult is it to do this to an 07' MS3? It looks to me like accessing the TB is a pita. Is there an easier way?

    2011 sputtering woes

My daughter emailed me the following: "we went in this morning and the service manager told me that what he was able to “replicate” yesterday was about a 1 second hesitation/stutter upon accelerating from idle. I told him that was not in fact replicating anything since the problem lasted...

    2011 sputtering woes

Thanks Antonio! I've passed your information on to my daughter. I totally agree that she should find another dealer if they can't or won't help her.

    2011 sputtering woes

I'm hoping someone can guide me. My daughter and her husband just bought a new 2011 CX-9 Grand Touring model. Two days later my daughter called me to complain about the following issue: "On a cold start, after about 1-3 minutes of driving, the car begins to sputter/stutter upon giving it gas...

How difficult is it to replace EGR valve?

My Mazda shop wants about $650 to replace it. Is there a cheaper aftermarket valve that will work? Also, is replacing this valve something that a backyard mechanic can do?

What would you do? - replacing under panel

That's a very slight risk. I haven't hit anything in the road, except for this one event, that would cause damage under the car in 40 years of driving.
