I can see how stock would be best as far as warranty and proven reliability, but aftermarket intakes are certainly going to improve hp where stock will not.

Just bought one myself and I would say go for it. Love mine already and would recommend it to anyone. I paid (after rebate, trade in of $1k, and putting down 1k) only 14k and change. And I also have a 5spd and would recommend that.
