Was at the dealer today. Asked this question to one of the master mechanics. He recommended full synthetic 5-40 and said more and more people within Mazda are recommending this for the MS3.

The check engine light issue was one of the problems that caused Mazda to pull their CAI. Not sure exactly what they changed when they released the current version.

Today I had the new generation Mazda CAI installed in my 08.5 MS3. Paid $330 plus $75 labor. It took the mechanic about 45 minutes to install. Next will be the Cobb AccessPort. Waiting for it to warm up in Colorado.

Similar thing happened to my son's car at his high school a month ago. Never found out who did it. Repair costs were about $1,300 (bumper cover, fog light, paint, and labor). Think FMIC while the bumper is off!

I heard the same crap from my dealership when asking them about replacement of the rear motor mount. Keep in mind that Mazda is building the best $25K car they can, not a $100K car. Cost is an issue when designing and building these cars. Many after market parts will make this car much better...

Nice pictures. I looked up both Rota and Tenzo on the web. Their wheels seem very reasonably priced and light weight. How is their quality? First time I have seen white wheels. Wonder how they would look on a white MS3 vs black wheels. Post pictures once you have them installed.

Agreed! I am looking for some new black wheels and amazed how expensive lighter weight wheels cost. These are sharp, but keep in mind that these cars give off terrible brake dust. Will these be easy to clean?

Sounds like some great deals. However, I wonder how many of you paid an adv fee or some crazy dealer handling charge on top of S-plan pricing. Mazda supplier pricing does not limit the dealer handling fee. Interestingly, Ford brand and GM do limit this price ($75 I think).
