I'm 99% sure that you're old gearbox will bolt up. You might have to use the clutch from the old motor if that was 1,3. ohh ! you will need engine harness and ecu.

I think that is normal if you don't have air filter on. Are you getting gas,air, and spark? Just trying to figure out why it will not start.

(boom01) Never seen that.. can you post pics of these controls? So i whent and shot couple of pics in my wagon and this plug is conected to some chip that is bolted on to the ignition.. I don't know what it is for but maybe derrick knows.

This actualy isn't much of a headace.. All you need is a timer relay and program it to 0,5 sec pulse. when you turn your ignition off the wires from ign barrel go from + 12v to - . So you could youse that to power upp your relay. I would not recomend to connect stright to e-brake couse you...

Have you checkt ground cable from battery to chasis and motor? And it should be 1 wire from battery to allt and 1 plug with 2 wires 1 wire is ign(check if that wire feeds + when ignition is on.) and the other should be to turn on batt light in dash.

You might need a can bus unit to pick the vss signal up for you thru the can bus. http://ifar.ca/en/products/flashlink_series/can-vss/vehicles.html this fits mazda 3 from 2005 and works great.
