I've experienced this too, on a gentle incline. The AT drops to the lowest gear and "chugs" a bit - try bumping into 4th.

ATF volume expands as it warms up. Best to check it when you are done driving a bit; warming the engine up does not replicate "using" the ATF like driving does.

Pretty amazing that such an obvious issue was "hidden" from official recall for so long with such a documented history. Only ~33 complaints is all it took - it apparently matters to take the time to report legit concerns to get OEMs to take the action they should have done so long before.

Check the cabin air filter for what - being clogged with debris? If so, I did replace it - there was some debris, but not a lot - a majority of the surface area was open. Perhaps even a little surface area restriction is enough to make an impact? Thanks for the insight!
