Stock air box a pain to reattach?

I've recently completed a tune-up on my 2003 LX (FS-DE engine) and tried to reattach the stock air box cover after replacing the air filter. I've tried multiple ways, but I cannot make the three tabs on the left of the air box go under those U-shaped brackets. Only the first one will go under...

What to do about this rust?

    Cool- thanks! Will do.

What to do about this rust?

Right- sanding will be done no matter what. I just wasn't sure if sanding/prepping/primer/spray paint was really the way to go, or if touch-up paint would be okay. I'm going to try to remove those brackets and confirm my suspicions that the rust is underneath them as well. Judging by how...

What to do about this rust?

I've got a weird problem I've never seen before. I've just done my springtime engine bay detail, and found some rust under the strut mounting brackets. A closer view: The pic is of the passenger side strut tower; driver's side is the same. We get very harsh winters up here in Northern New...

    Brakes squeal when cold

No, I park in an unheated garage. I'll look for rust spots on the rotor before I head out in the AM, but I don't think it's that. It never used to make that noise when I did park outside (and in a wetter Virginia climate). It could be that the salt and sand on the roads affect the rotor. I...

    Brakes squeal when cold

Hello all, I've been hearing a metal-on-metal squeal when braking in the mornings that goes away after a minute or so (after they get hot). It's loudest when backing out of my driveway (~ 30 yds) and braking before getting into the street. The temps up here in northern NY are cold- low teens...

No reverse lights- neutral safety switch?

Figured it out- the harness in the engine compartment was unplugged. I either didn't plug it back in after spraying down all the electronic contacts, or didn't push it in all the way and it came out. I know I've had reverse lights since then, so probably the latter. BTW, Mitchell On Demand...

MAF Sensor Cleaner - Anyone ever use it?

Yes, I've used this with much success. It's a typical spray can with a straw. I take down the intake hose as far as I can and remove the MAF assembly, then spray down the sensor needle vertically (spray downward so the needle is horizontal), so the runoff doesn't contaminate anything else in...

No reverse lights- neutral safety switch?

No joy on the fuses. The only fuses that control lights back there are for the whole taillight assembly. All the fuses for that check out. It's got to be a switch of some type. Will continue to research. Anyone have an answer?

No reverse lights- neutral safety switch?

Duh on me, thanks TheMAN! There's no fuse specifically for reverse lights, and that's what I was looking for. I'll look elsewhere for a likely spot, and failing that, just go through the fuses until I find a melted one. This is likely the problem.

No reverse lights- neutral safety switch?

I'm driving an '03 Protege LX- manual. I recently had both reverse lights go out at the same time. Don't know when, but they don't work. I replaced both bulbs with new ones and they still don't work. The Auto Zone guy said to buy a neutral safety switch, but he can't get them. Neither can the...

    snow tires?

Snow tires are generally smaller and narrower than your summer tires so you get more pounds per square inch on the pavement. More PSI on road=better traction. I am running Bridgestone Blizzak 185/65R14 on steel rims. Bought from Tirerack.com- highly recommended! The site has winter tire...
