I just ran a spreadsheet the other day and my Speed is running roughly about $ .55 - $ .60 for all expenses. Do the company car and keep the speed for weekends.
Be sure to bump your insurance down to less than 5k miles a year to save more $$$ if that is all the mileage you will do.
I love the looks of the RX-8....very sexy. Poor gas turned me off from buying one. I also question the reliability. I went to the dealer a few years back for a test drive and not one but two brand new RX-8's would not start :(
Don't do it! The Speed6 is a gas hog and gas will be back up to $5 a gallon before you know it.

I don't care much for Rick Case. I bought from Jim Ellis but I have my Speed3 serviced at Sutherlin in Buford. They used to be an authorized Speed6 seller but did not sell the Speed3 for whatever. However I have met the master mechanic at Sutherlin and he is very competent and knows the Speed...
Ok tough call here....a few years back I was real close to landing an older 911 993 (my first choice). I was still on the fence at the time but I told my wife if they ever made a Speed version of her Mazda3 hatchback I would compromise and get the more practical "Speed3." Low and behold Mazda...
Mine will be paid for in a few months so I will still keep it as my DD. As long as the maintenance is reasonable I will keep it for the daily. I must say for a commuter I have been very, very happy with the 30+mpg on the highway. This car is the perfect balance between power and economy.
