Here's one more - press and hold the volume knob, and then press and hold the Media button. Hold these buttons together for about 3 seconds and release - it will change your temperature display to celsius. Repeat to switch back to fahrenheit.

My apologies if I am stating the obvious, but just to confirm, the aux input won't control the MP3 player, so you will have to manually control it. Plus I have found that the volume on my iPod needs to be turned up pretty high in order to get it to play through, so maybe your volume is low...
