Lease Payments - JUST the Basics

Dave Ramsey skims over a lot if things in his 'analysis'. 1) What if you get 0% financing? With inflation, you're better off paying later than sooner as your money is actually going down in value over time. 2) What's the opportunity cost of not having that $30k that you buried into your cash car...

Lease Payments - JUST the Basics

Here's a good resource to determine how good of a deal a given lease is. I used it when shopping for my CX-5: https://www.leaseguide.com/leasevalue-calc/ You plug in the particulars and it cranks out a 'lease rating' from 0-100 and then categorizes it (bad, average, good, very good, etc.)

Mine does that too. Just a tiny bit and not every time.

I have a second garbage email address for that. Why not? They're free.

Interesting. I got one from cars.com but not IPSOS. Never heard of them. Seems like some kind of market research company.

Mazda Appoints New CEO, Prioritises USA - Wonder If Any Immediate Impact On CX-5

Yep. The visor test! And The Fast Lane can be OK sometimes. I actually stumbled across a vid by them where they were comparing the CX-5 to three luxury SUV's when I was researching Volvo:

Mazda Appoints New CEO, Prioritises USA - Wonder If Any Immediate Impact On CX-5

I love Doug DeMuro's reviews. Usually the insane cars I will never own but very entertaining and informative. Focusing on NA sales isn't necessarily a bad thing. Honestly, I think their biggest issue here is marketing. I probably see 100 Honda / Toyota commercials for every Mazda. Most people...

    Dash gas MPG reading

Thanks! I've been using trip A since I got my car and trip B for each fillup for some reason. I will be changing that next fillup so I can get that cool graph working!

Mazda radar cruise control with stop and go

35.7?? Holy crap, I've got to up my game. Best I've done so far is 31.2. That was on open hiway going about 70 most of the way.

    Dash gas MPG reading

I'm a little confused on the resetting. There are two trip computers, each with their average mileage. Do you reset one or both each time you fill up?

Mazda radar cruise control with stop and go

I use it every day to and from work in rush hour traffic. Speeds 0-70. I find that when I change lanes to pass, I sometimes take over with the accelerator as I'm changing lanes to guard against the possibility that a slowing car in my lane will cause me to enter the new lane going to slow and be...

    How To Wash Your Car

So I tried Hydro2 lite last night and was very impressed. Just like in the videos, when you spray it on an area with standing water, the water seems to sprint off the surface as if it's being repelled by some unseen force. Its pretty cool to see in action. Also, you don't use very much product...

Off Topic Mazdas247 vs CRVOwnersClub.com (Yea, I'm going there)

My take: CR-V: The car is just something to get them from point A to point B. CX-5: Point A and point B are just excuses to drive the car some more.

CX5 Voted 'Most Comfortable Car in UK'

I never even thought about how comfortable the car was until I saw this headline. I guess that says something. Comfort isn't something I tend to notice. Lack of comfort is! But now that I've made a point of paying attention to it. Yeah, it is very comfortable!

CX5 Voted 'Most Comfortable Car in UK'

#2 and #3 start at $36k and $43k U.S. (add $6k for nav and AWD.) so that's even more impressive. Kudo's for Kia coming in 4th. Probably only SUV on the list cheaper than CX-5.

If you could change one thing...

Yeah I've been getting 29.9 driving almost exclusively in stop and go rush hour traffic. Kind of surprised it's that high. I use Radar Cruise a lot and I think it actually helps mileage. I am also a former mid teens MPG Jeep owner so I'm probably saving $40-$50 / month just in fuel costs.

If you could change one thing...

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. 2.5 L X. Not sure what the point of putting a 2.0 L in would be.
