Storage / Organizer Hacks - What have you created or found?

I find my 2016 cx-5 to be a little difficult in the storage department, I miss having a sub-cargo space to keep larger items. With the "main" area of my trunk devoted to my dog, I'm interested how people have taken advantage of the little side pockets, center console, under seats, or other areas...

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

First oil change, installed Fumoto valve and got a whole bunch of oil filters (45,000 mi worth) from quirk parts. Castrol Syntec 0W-20. Only real complication was the factory installed filter was REALLY tight. Tried one hand, two, some vise grips, and ended up just having to hammer a screw...

Dealer had tons of 2016s on the lot...

I support your quest for a Manual! I'm thinking the biggest difference would be the lack of MazdaConnect (command knob & infotainment touch display) on a Sport Auto vs Sport Manual. Am I wrong? I know that all the manuals only have the radio that has knobs & a seven-segment type display...

Install kits still good for 2016 model?

Just did this over the weekend, and here are some of my insights: - The stereo is tied to Fuse "AUDIO2" located under the vehicle hood. - I would recommend buying an extra Metra 70-7552 harness. I appreciated having the extra pins to use on the Blue/Pink & Brown/White wires. To get the pins...

    VW TDIs and DieselGate

I'm glad JR posted, I didn't notice this thread until I saw it at the top of the Lounge! Selling back my 2010 Jetta Sportwagen TDI this time next week. A few weeks back I got excited and pulled the trigger on a 2016(.5) Sport, Silver, 6-Speed. I specifically chose the Manual, 2.0 to stay as...

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Thanks to the outstanding members on this forum (I'm looking at you FG_Flyer, TreyP, RedBaron, Howlin4You, and many more that have contributed) I have started on head unit replacement (Sony XAV-AX100), Radar Detector Installation, Rear-View Camera, Trailer Hitch & Wiring, Front Tweeter Upgrade...

2013~2016 CX-5 Reverse Trigger Wire for aftermarket headunit

Specifically for the 2016 Mazda CX-5, I've found the only solution is to direct-wire or use the PAC harness. I probed every pin while shifting from reverse to neutral, and didn't see a trigger in either of the two larger connectors that are behind (and connect to) the original radio.

US Prices released for 2017 range.

This. I'm about to sell back my VW JSW TDI and specifically made the decision not to wait and pay for the diesel. It didn't help that Mazda's diesels do have some existing issues overseas. But then again w/ the loss of the 2.0L Manual, maybe Mazda will get lucky for people that see the mpg...

What did you pay for your CX-5?

Forgot to add my data-point: $20,500 for a no-frills 6-Speed CX-5 in Silver. The dealer they sourced from had already added all-weather mats and tint for an extra $210. Dealer fee was $590. OTD in NC for roughly $21,500 w/ Mazda's 0% financing. Feel like it was a decent deal. Didn't have to...

No 2017 Manual in the US?!

I verified with another dealership, seems no manual for the 2017 CX-5's. Not that this can't change in the future, but it won't be available for 2017 models (verified by two dealerships, one of which reached up to double-check with their representative). I'll have a 2016.5 Manual in my driveway...

No 2017 Manual in the US?!

I've been on the 2016 vs 2017 fence for a while now. Without starting the "which is better" I thought I'd look at what I care about most, and a BIG part of that is mileage. So we know that Mazda is ditching the 2.0L engine for 2017, but what I haven't seen definitive information on is whether or...
