What Tire Pressure do you Run in the Winter?

Hmm, I've always filled to about 36 psi for my CX-9s, which is 2 PSI higher than what is recommended on the placard. Never had any issues. I only chose 36 because 34 felt a little low to me. I'm interested in seeing what others do.

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Got some Yokohama Geolandar A/T GO15 tires in 265/50/20 installed in preparation for winter. I was going to run the Pirellis until I came across these at a price I couldn't ignore. Definitely not as quiet, as expected, but still much quieter than Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2s. The sidewalls look...

    OBD2 Scanner/App: what sensors/values to monitor?

Does anyone know how to get Torque Pro to display transmission fluid temperature for my 2nd gen CX-9? I'm using a ELM327 Bluetooth OBD2 adapter and the paid Torque Pro app for Android. The only value I can find for transmission fluid temperature shows no data.

Anyone try yellow bulbs in the fog lights?

The foglights are LED. I have seen only one person here change their foglights - if I remember right, they used Morimoto LEDs and they custom fabricated/3D-printed the brackets for the new lights. The output was much better. If you wanted yellow foglights, I would suggest vinyl wrapping the...

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Yeah that is a very good sale on it.. I did use PUP for the first few oil changes with my 2018. Since then I've been using the Kirkland stuff and I find it to be a good oil for my needs. I stocked up a few years ago when it went on sale, $40 for 2 jugs, and I'm finally going to run out next year...

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

None that I can tell on the 2022. On the 2018 though, I had version 56.xxx.xxx I think, and then updated to the most recent version. That made the infotainment feel a bit snappier.

USB stick not recognized when trying to update firmware

Try redownloading the update file, then reformat the USB drive and copy the redownloaded file to the drive. Make sure nothing else is on the drive. That's what worked for me.

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

I didn't end up installing them on that car, but I still have them, and will probably install them on my current car (2022 CX-9). I think they are the basic mudflap, which is about 12x15 inches.

What does everyone think of this 2019 CX-5 Signature?

I had a 2018 CX-9 with 140k kms (87k mi) that also had no cylinder head cracking. The problem is rare IMO, and you're right - with the warranty provided by CSP11, the 2019 will be covered for up to 10 years/120k mi. Hard to go wrong with either car, but I'd be tempted to go for the 2021 just to...

What does everyone think of this 2019 CX-5 Signature?

The 21s had a short run of cars that were built with defective valve stem seals that caused oil consumption. The valve stem seal settlement for the issue includes the following affected VINs for the CX-5: US/Canada spec w/ 10.25" infotainment: VINS from JM3KF******320280 – 472324 (produced from...

How do you pick winter tires?

I had Michelin Xice on a small sedan many years back. Great tires, and they were quiet, but I remember them wearing fairly quickly. My experience with Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2s is that they are a great, durable winter tire with good performance in snow. After 6 winters, they had between 5/32...

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Did an oil change yesterday using Kirkland 5W-30 and a Mazda OEM filter. There's only like 2k kms on this oil, but I felt that I should change it anyway because I bought it from a used car dealership. Turns out I was right to change it.. Thats a Certified CPH6607 universal oil filter from...

    2016~2023 CX-9 Common Repairs Thread

It's funny because after I had the diff replaced, I asked the dealership how often I should be changing the diff fluid to prevent this from happening again. They told me that when they do oil changes, they "check the fluid" by opening the fill bolt and sticking a finger in. Based on that...
