Okay so they found no codes at all.....at this point my last good shot will be to take it to the dealership and pay to let them reflash my computer to run the 2.0L motor Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk

I have an 2.3 07 manual Mazda 5 and i put a 2.0 08 automatic Mazda 3 engine in it, everything has been put together properly, the car wont crank, im only getting fire on 2 cylinders, other 2 are dead, i kept the 2.3 computer and wiring harness and throttle body, So the problem is that my 2.3...

Im going to haul the mazda 5 to the Mazda dealership and im going to let them reflash my manual 2.3 computer to run the 2.0 automatic motor that is in it, after that it should start and run fine im assuming right?

I think it may have threw a code after the swap so what I'll Do is take it to AutoZone and have the my read the ECU and clear all the codes that were thrown.

I've actually already put the motor in the car, and I don't plan to take it back out... what I'm thinking is that I could get the 2.3 computer reflashed to run the 2.0, could I do that ?

I'm thinking that it may be the harmonic balancer that's causing the timing to be off, which may also be the reason only 2 cylinders are firing.

Is it running yet? What did you find out?

When swapping the 2 engines(2.3 to 2.0 mazda) what needs to be changed , (Ecu? Wiring harness? Cam shaft sensor? Crank shaft position sensor?

No the AT models have a TCM that controls the transmission

So I should use the ECU that goes with the motor?

I've tried to use the 2.3 ECU but when I attempted to start it would never turn over. I don't know if this means I should use the 2.0 computer that came with motor or to reflashed the 2.3 ECU to make it run the 2.0 engine
