    P0431 code and engine hesitation...

Have been doing some reading about P0431 codes... I got one a few months ago. It came and went a few times. Seems like it could be my downstream O2 sensor, judging from some posts around the web. Or, it could be something else (vacuum leak? cat itself? precat? a timing belt? spark plugs?)...

    Reappearing P0400 Code...

Hi! Recently had a P0400 code and then cleaned out the valve in the throttle bottle, which was dirty. The code went away but came on again a few weeks later after I adjusted the Idle Air Bypass valve. I'm not sure it could actually be related to the Air Bypass valve. I suspect it could be...

    Transmission on Cold Mornings...

You think doing a transmission flush might help this? Thanks!! Ty

    Transmission on Cold Mornings...

Yes, I think you may be right... Obviously, any "thump" in a transmission is never a good thing... but would this cause serious damage, or is it "normal"? Cheers, Ty

    Transmission on Cold Mornings...

Hi guys! Just noticed that my transmission shifts slightly hard from 1st to 2nd gear (it just hesitates for a slight millisecond and then "kicks" to the next gear with a very slight shake -- barely noticeable) in the cold mornings for the first half mile or so, and then shifts silky smooth...

    Brake lights out...

So my three back brake lights are not working... I've run a series of 12v test light tests, and I do not get power to the brake light sockets (but power does flow to turn and tail lights, etc), but I DO get power all the way to the red and blue wires on the brake light switch itself. I have...

I could really use your help with an EGR problem...

Cleaned out EGR valve and everything works great now! Acceleration lasts a little longer than normal before shifting, but otherwise feels like a new car. Than you thank you thank you!! Ty

I could really use your help with an EGR problem...

Or can I just adjust the bypass air screw back to where I think it was, and as long as the idle runs smoothly, I should be relatively okay? Everything else on the car was fine... timing, acceleration, etc... Thanks!! Ty

I could really use your help with an EGR problem...

Thank you for your help... one last question: Since I adjusted the idle intake air speed by accident, how do I put the car into diagnostic mode to test this? As I understand it, I disconnect the IAC and also disconnect the STI Pin or EEC-IV shorting bar... Do you know where the STI...

I could really use your help with an EGR problem...

Hi! I was trying to clean the throttle body (and eventually the EGR valve) on my 2000 Mazda 626 ES V6. I got into the throttle body, and noticed that the gasket was virtually black and the top part disintegrated the second I opened the manifold. I tried to remove the whole throttle body (to...
