    Insurance more than $200 less

The annual premium for my 2015 CX-5 is $3,800 which seems to be fairly reasonable for the vehicle segment.

re: Cracked Windshields on CX-5's and Poll

A rock hit the windshield on mine this morning covering the dash and front seats in glass. Luckily the rock didn't go through the windshield because it hit directly above the steering wheel.

    Premium gas

I switched back to 93 octane a few weeks ago and the CX-5 is much more tolerable. The throttle response is improved, the transmission doesn't have to downshift to make it over the hill by my house, and mpg (25mpg hwy) has not decreased even with the more spirited driving. I find the engine noise...

    the parchment leather looks amazing

I liked the parchment interior when I was shopping for my CX-5 and I would have been happy with either option; I ended up getting the black interior. Five months later I was driving down the interstate about to take a sip from my half full venti black coffee when the side of the cup split...

    the parchment leather looks amazing

In the Grand Touring trim it's very easy to get the exact color combo that you want. It took the dealer 12 hours to get the color I wanted.

    How Accurate Is Your Range?

The range estimate on mine is precise because when it says 1 mile to empty I always have 2 gallons of fuel left in the tank. I wouldn't necessarily say that it is accurate since 2 gallons is not empty, but Mazda probably doesn't want us to be driving around with less than 2 gallons in the tank.

    "Break in" period?

I drove mine up north right when I picked it up from the dealership. It was a few hundred miles on the interstate and I braked hard a few times to navigate around some deer in the road. I kept the car at 70mph most of the time but occasionally would drive faster to let the engine spend some time...

Front end noise after lowering CX-5

I experience this noise daily in my CX-5 with no suspension modifications. I notice it at low speeds because it's not drowned out by the wind noise, but it probably continues to make the noise at high speeds.

    2016 Seat Heaters

I had a Passat and that was the hottest seat heater I have ever felt. The seat heater in my 2015 CX-5 was still working well when it snowed last week. It warms up much more quickly than the climate control heat when the engine is cold.

Totally weird logic on the auto headlight and auto wiper functions

Yes. I think NC has a law that requires headlights to be on when your windshield wipers are turned on, but a lot of states do not.

What surprised you about the CX-5 after you bought it?

In the 2015 model there is an option to change the auto headlight sensitivity in the car settings through the nav screen.

    Transmission shifting behavior AWD

This makes sense. The car I replaced was a Highlander Hybrid V6 w/ CVT and front and rear electric motors so there were just no shifts to wait for.

    Transmission shifting behavior AWD

I guess what I notice is that the shifts are quick, but the engine does not want to rev higher after the shift so the power delivery feels inconsistent.

What surprised you about the CX-5 after you bought it?

Is this an unusual setup? I know that VW and Audis I've driven have had the pedals set up the same way. Surely this is something you would have noticed during the test drive.
