What products do you use to clean you cx5?

I give a thumbs up to the Magguiers ultimate liquid wax. I clay bar the car once a year in the spring (after a wash) after our harsh winters before I apply the polymer wax.

    CX-5 rattles

With the warmer spring weather, the rattle I had has disappeared.

    2014 Windshield replacement CX-5

The total from speedy was $1217 but it was covered from insurance. I only have a $300 deductible. My windshield has the rain sensing wipers but no other electronics mounted there. The rain sensing wipers are working fine with the new windshield. In Ontario there is no longer any Apple auto...

    bug shield/ hood protector

I pull mine off once a year to get some wax on the whole hood. The push pins/rivets are not reusable so I bought a bag from the dealer quite cheap...part number J001-56-741. You do need to put new 2 sided tape on the ends if you remove the protector. I like having it and I think it adds to...

    2014 Windshield replacement CX-5

I went through speedy glass. The thing is, if speedy puts in Orem glass from Mazda it is not covered through their warranty or life time chip repair. There was only a $30 difference between oem and the oem equivalent so I took the equivalent with the speedy guarantee.

    CX-5 rattles

I have had no rattles until this week when I had to replace the front windshield. There is now a slight rattle sound over large bumps coming from the front left/centre but not once the interior of the car is warmed up then no sounds anymore. Once the winter and the very cold weather passes I...

Who else is waiting impatiently for the 2016 CX-5?

Was looking at a new 2016 model in the St. Catharines dealer showroom. None on the lot yet but got a close up look and sat in on the one on display.

    2016 CX5 Canadian Specs

Looks nice. Noticed that the luxury option for leather seats is only available with the gs as an option for awd only. I like the leather but tend to get the fwd for the fuel economy savings for the highway commute I do daily.

    Winter tires

Thanks Mike. My only experience are with the Blizzak's but I do know they wear down quicker and i would be on pavement most of the time for 130 km per day. Your advice is very helpful.

    Winter tires

I am interested in winter tire recommendations for highway drving for my commute. Roads are usually always clear since they are the first roads to get plowed but the reality is the highway is dry pavement most of the time so will certain tires wear out more than others on this kind of surface...

Clay Bar + Car Wax (Rail Dust)

Noticed rail dust a few days after taking possession. Used maguirs clay bar system and it all came off the paint with a few extra rubs on those spots. Never clay barred in my life and was amazed at the results.

    Programming your own remote key?

Why are people receiving only 1 key with their car?? All cars come with 2 keys including my cx-5. I have never heard of this before.

    Please Post Your Numbers

I am getting 7.4 l/100km with 80% highway driving over the last 5 months. Also my wife had it for 2 months with all city driving and we were getting 7.9 l/100 km. I am happy overall with these results.

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Applied clear bra protector film to outside side mirror housing. Did the whole front end--bumper/fender/front hood and headlights soon after delivery but found the mirrors were really getting a beating with highway driving.

    End Of Month Negotiating

Started looking at the car December 2013 but didn't commit to anything. Went in every month to take a quick look and checked the offers for the month. Dealer salesman called me when April hit to tell me that there was now 0% financing for that month. That's what I was waiting for and came in...

    Alignment Adjustment

I was on the highway and it did not seem to have the same off centre steering wheel so I don't know what it is. Maybe the slight angle/slope of the road has something to do with it. The dealership will at least test the alignment for free they said and see if something is off.

    Alignment Adjustment

I have to still follow up with them. It is only over the phone with a service manager. I have an appointment at the end of the week. If they don't do it I will take it somewhere else.

    Alignment Adjustment

My 2014 has 9000kms and noticed I have to slightly hold the steering wheel to the left to keep the vehicle straight. It does not drift on its own but this was not the case when it was brand new. The warranty booklet says minor adjustments including alignments are covered for 1 year or 20 000kms...

    Dealership oil change cost

Just paid $75.40 plus tax in St. Catharines, Ontario. The wheel rotation was no charge.....but every 4th oil change is free with this dealership so it works out to about $57 per oil change over the 4.

To WeatherTech or Not To WeatherTech?

In Canada you can buy the floor liners from the dealer with the CX-5 branding and they are made by Weathertech...their label is underneath. Paid $200 for front and back, not much more than the generic Weathertech but these have the CX-5 branding made specifically for Mazda.
