Hi Xtrailman, Some time back you recommended MGI towing mirrors (3698) but several Amazon purchasers have snapped the plastic screws ! Did you consider the MGI 3872 steady XL strap on mirrors for SUVs ? If so I would appreciate your feedback or observations on them.

Hi the light metallic tinkle noise I hear when I press the accelerator disappears the very instant I lift my foot off the accelerator and I can not hear noise at idle ? Is this noise only on diesels with automatic transmission like mine ?

My own theory about the pinging noise on the Mazda bi-turbo diesel engines is the mechanism that makes the transition between the small turbo at low revs to the larger turbo at higher revs. To my ears the noise sounds like a butterfly valve tinkling ?

My oil level was approx. 5mm above full the day I took delivery new. I now drive to my local Tesco ,about 6 miles, to warm up oil and park on the level and check oil after shopping to get an accurate reading.

Towing economy of 34mpg is very good. Is it still the Unicorn you are towing? I will be towing my 1300kg Bailey Olympus with CX5 for the first time next week and don't expect as good economy as engine only done 700 miles. Any advice on tyre pressures for towing??

Recommend the Witter detachable towbar which can be fitted by two people lying on their back under rear of cx5 without having to remove rear bumper and tail light. A pair of long 19mm flat ring spanners are ideal for tightening bolts. A ramp or pit need to swing torque wrench.
