I'm in the same boat. I went and looked at the 2003 Mazda Protege5 yesterday, the guy is asking for $3500 and it only has 120,000 km's on it. That's what I figured. I wasn't sure if this guy quoted $800 on fixing sensor issues or the whole new braking system. And was left wondering if the fact the brakes are a bit worn out if causing the ABS light to be on etc

So definitely not an $800 fix? I was just worried about the brake pads. I'm not looking for a spectacular car to last me for another 10 years, so I don't expect everything to be perfect. Just wouldn't want the brakes to give out on me and have to replace the rotors, calipers for an expensive price
