Indeed. It's definitely improved with time (up to about 1500 miles now), and is almost exclusively when cold. I guess I'm glad others are having the problem. The fact that double clutching fixes it certainly points to the synchro to me.

Hi All, Recently (last week) bought a 3 iTouring with the manual gearbox. Really enjoying the car, but have found that, when cold, fourth gear can be pretty difficult to get into. It doesn't grind, it just... won't slip in, like the synchro isn't working. Don't really notice it when the car...

Had this work for me the other day when backing out of a spot, it was great. Great little feature.
