Any Suggestions for fixing this Scratch?

From pic that looks really light and small. Before going full in on the polisher and stuff recommended by GFrosty, try some Nu Finish Scratch Doctor. I have used it on much worse looking scratches and they came out. If it is deeper and the orbital doesn't work then maybe some Dr ColorChip repair.

I can see the coolant bubble out of that circled bolt that is on the block. Here is a blown out pic that shows the location better... Anyone know what that bolt is and how to fix the leak?

How difficult is a Wheel Bearing and Control Arm replacement?

Wow... forgot to report back on this. It was a disaster, I had trouble with the control arm which should have been easier. Just couldn't get everything lined up afterwards and while doing it I noticed some other issues... grease oozing out of the CV Boot one of the jack points completely...

    Protege5 Side Mirrors from Mazda3?

I have an 07 Mazda 3. I just took a look and the base (part that connects to the car) is much larger on the 3. No idea if the bolts would line up. I am sure you could make it fit if you really tried, but my guess is you will at least have to do some cutting/grinding of the base. I would bet...

How difficult is a Wheel Bearing and Control Arm replacement?

I think what I am going to do is try and leave the knuckle on and use a wheel bearing press kit to get it off (Autozone has one that I can borrow at no cost). If I can't get the bearing out then I'll see about taking the knuckle off and getting a new one. I am busy this weekend so, may be a...

Thanks for the video on the control arm. That's better than other ones I watched. Here is a video on how to put a bearing in without a shop press... Do you think that will work for Protege's ?

2002 Protege5 Sudden power loss, rough idle, light knock…Please help!

You put 4qts of oil in? It only holds 3.7 qts after draining. Either you overfilled it a lot or it didn't have any oil at all. Either way, it may need some internal engine work. We can't help until you tell us what codes the OBDII scan shows. For future posts it would be appreciated if you...

OBDII Checks not complete after 3000 miles of driving

Update... so, after 9,600 miles I finally got a pending code - P0421. Never got a CEL never got all the OBDII checks to complete. I ended up paying a shop to replace the lower sensor. Plan to put in an extender on this weekend, because I am sure my CAT is burned out by now. Hopefully then...

Is it possible to check the Protege5 Timing belt?

See if it occurs when you shift and gas quickly... or if you are at a complete stop and you slowly and purposefully shift into reverse. My Oddy will clunk when shifting into reverse the very first shift, but then all is good. I wouldn't worry about it until something actually breaks. I would...

Seized brake caliper and squishy brake pedal

This may have been a result of the ebrake adjustment not being set correctly. Which brings me to my next question... ebrake adjustment.... Directions I have are to tighten until the wheel cannot be moved by hand and then loosen it. Do I loosen it just a little (and the rotor still drags a...
