I'm a college student who purchased an '03 P5 around 3 months ago. I bought mine at 145k miles for $3500. The dealer I bought it from was actually asking $4500 which was ridiculous to me. It's been a great car to me so far (knock on wood).

How far away is your school? My college is about 100 miles away and I went a year without a car and it was miserable. I would definitely keep it depending on how far away you're going.

I now own a Protege5! I negotiated down to $3500.

I'm about to buy an '03 P5 and it doesn't have the stock rack or the cargo cover. The car has the trails on the top, I want to have a rack that can be used to carry cargo and be able to carry a bike with the proper attachments. I'm open to suggestions.

Took it to a Mazda dealership for a second opinion, they said it looks great. They didn't charge me a dime and were extremely helpful. There is a brand new timing belt on the car. I'm pretty set on purchasing it. I'm hoping I can negotiate down to $3500.
